will the umpires please protect justin macconnell !!!!

i've noticed justin macconnell hasn't been receiving free kicks he should be getting in recent weeks, i know he 'highlights' the offence when it happens but if the free kick is there it should still be paid (this goes for any player in any team), i also know an umpire who told me (among other things) at the end of last year that they're sick of macca playing for free kicks & this obviously has happened as i don't think he's had a free for quite a while

SO C'MON UMPIRES IF THE FREE IS THERE PAY IT REGARDLESS OF WHO THE PLAYER IS

PROTECT MACCA

FGS - you don't get free kicks when you skirt around on the flank for three-quarters!

I don't see a lot of McConnell, so I don't know if he's receiving poor treatment or not. However, you say he "highlights" the offence, in other words "stages" for free kicks.

Over the years, I've seen players do this, and umpires become reluctant to give those players free kicks for fear of being conned and getting it wrong ... especially forwards who will kick goals as a result of it.

Maybe if he stopped "highlighting" the offences, umpires may become a little more benevolent in their attitude towards him.

He got a fair run down at Noarlunga a few weeks back. Kicked 3 or 4 goals from free kicks if i recall correctly :?

Still, I dont see the Bays often enough to really comment

This from a man whose club had Michael Aish.

Sorry, but that comment makes no sense at all. I thought we were discussing McConnell. It was Bayman suggesting he highlighted offences, not me.

what rushby is saying is that norwood as do/did every other club have players that 'embellish' the infringement, i'm saying in this case that although he does sometimes over dramatises it, if it is a free he should be getting it (same for any other player as well)

AAh ok.

It's sort of a joke thing.

There used to be a bloke who played in the SANFL, who was more protected then Adam Goodes in the AFL. Used to get countless free kicks, and allegedly the Norwood time keepers didn't start the clock until Aish had received a free kick. As the umpires weren't paid overtime, they used to get the free kick out of the way at the first centre bounce.

Pretty good player, looked like a tall Leo Sayer.

C'om Fatal, even I was surprised when i had a closer look at the photo.

Even @ Ethelton that would be a free kick, looking @ his left hand?

And why is Clive grabbing Murphy's testicles?

Just covering them up as there was a clicking camera nearby. It's club policy now, ever since Hargs' gingernut display...

Phil, didn't you tell everyone that you are 110 kilos a few weeks back?

And that you barrack for the club that brought us the famous fitness fanatics Rudi Mandimaker (who looks like Chris Kendall i've just decided), Wilbur Wilson, his son Talentwasted Wilson, and Derek Kickett?
