A Disgrace (South V West Reserves)

During the reserves game, in the last 5 minutes, South Adelaide player Nos.22 Samuel Joraslafsky ALLEGEDLY KING HIT West Adelaide player Greg Rowe. The lad was knocked out cold, when he was concisious again was helped by 2 trainers from the oval. The lad vomitted and was in a very bad way.

My Point:
Souths sadly lost a player who was king hit at a party,WHY WOULD A PLAYER FROM THE SAME CLUB DO SOMETHING SO STUPID AFTER THE HORRIBLE RESULTS WHICH SHOOK THE SOUTHS CLUB RECENTLY.

Your thoughts

Mod Edit - included a vital word "ALLEGEDLY"...

hopefully the men in white also saw this and have taken the right steps to see the player take a long hard look at himself sitting in the stands for the next few weeks

There was a player who got king hit last year who swung an arm wildly today as well - luckily didn't connect fully or else Treeby would have been gone. Poor form from anyone who does these things on a footy field, or in real life.

He probably thought that it wouldn't matter because it wasn't done on a concrete surface. Did he get reported?

My thoughts Dash, is that if it happened as you describe then a report should be made to the police and the thug should be arrested for assualt and if he is found guilty then he should be deregistered from the SANFL as Leigh Matthews was from the VFL.

A question though, what difference does de-registering make? It still only means the same thing - he misses matches.

Yeh

Ex westies player Randall Bennett and myself saw the sickening incident, you heard the punch from 50 meters away and a man in white 10 meters away completely missed it

I saw it too.. it was a cowardly act but sadly the 3 blind mice did not see it
as a souths supporter i was very disappointed in light of what has happened in the last couple of weeks.

Also the sight of this poor lad shaking in the arms of the trainers as he was walked off was very distressing and is definately not what the sanfl or football for that matter would like to see.

I personally hope that the young west player decides to press charges with the police, as i will be the first MAN (not a coward) to put my hand up as a witness.

So it wasn't reported then? I don't care about this code of silence/squealing crap, getting decked like that has no place in the SANFL today. An official complaint (both to the SANFL and police) should be made without delay.

I support that. Perhaps some of those who witnessed should write to the player in a sealed envelope via Westies and offer to support a claim. I would be a bit concerned just saying that to Westies officials may result in it not being passed on if they are for "The Code".

Actually, I reckon that if the slattery the reserves coach had any spine or guts (like when he played), but i doubt that he has judging by his team talks and moves - he would take the player aside and suspend he for a couple of games

what happened was wrong and it should be made an example of!!!!

Seriously, we do all like a bit of push and shove, it exciting but to see a kid this sick after the incident was sickening and this lad needs a holiday and some councilling over his gutless actions.

And not joking, it was great to win a game today but for me, who saw this incident it seriously soured my day of glory

What incident are you talking about??? Surely not the high tackle free paid to Treeby against Wright which was purely accidental and nothing like a king hit - a swinging arm is not a king hit!!! It was a mistimed tackle attempt at best!!!

Come back and clarify your comment when you view the replay and point out the actual incident and if it is the one I am referring to, then be prepared to apologise big time because I saw nothing today that resembled anything like a vicious arm swing let alone a king hit your trying to infer. It is very poor form by you to even allege it on this forum let alone mention the cowardly attack that Matt Wright suffered late last year as a comparison to anything that occured in today's game!!!

It was a dangerous act. Probably more reckless than vicous. As I said, he swung his arm wildly and luckily he didn't connect properly. No room for that in the game.

Yes, Im sure Jack Cahill instructed the reserves coach to go and tell one of his players to king hit an opponent.
