Most watched team

From the Norwood website....

Our match day numbers really do show a huge improvement in what we have previously done. Although the crowd numbers will alter with the club now reverting to Saturday games we are currently the most watched club in the SANFL averaging 4600 people to our games and 5175 to our home games at Coopers Stadium.

Time for a few stats stars to jump in here, but I'd say we would be the most watched team since the advent of The Cows? Friday night games have certainly helped.

Reckon the Doggies recent success over the last 10 years or so would have to SURELY have them up there amongst the most watched team... ???

Glenelg at Glenelg is the team I am most likely to watch if the Eagles aren't involved. Only if they are playing a decent side though.

Otherwise the fact that you are this season's most watched team would hardly be newsworthy...

Port would still be the top ranked team over the minor round, however if you include finals, and especially GFs then the Dogs would be close too...

btw - I say this having checked exactly zero references...

Well if Port supporters didn't have 2 heads each or 14 kids then other teams would have a chance to top attendances!

Thanks Phil, no real suprises there I guess.

Glenelg could pass North's before the season is out... and Sturt might pass us too...

Average Crowd per game 2003-2008 (up to & inc 2008 Rd 8)

1st - Port Magpies - 3,416 -declining
2nd - Sturt - 3,374 - steady
3rd - Central 3,308 - declining
4th - Norwood 3,215 - steady

Would love to see it from 1991 as suggested above just for interest...

Despite 7 years of real crap in the 90's Fatal, I still think you'll find sturt in the top 3 providing its minor round games.

Clearly. After all, every Sturt supporter on here was at every game during that time. Presumably so were the rest of them.

They were also at the first Sex Pistols gig, witnessed the tied test at The Gabba, and were in Dallas when Kennedy was shot...

We also watched Ned Kelly get hanged.
Wait till the figures come up and you'll see that despite VERY ordinary results in the 1st 7 years of the 90's sturt still had a good following.

Pretty good figures for the Legs given we haven't been worth a cracker in that timeframe ... Reckon we get a good number of neutrals at our Friday night games due to the timing and social nature too

Think your' e right FA , I was there for most of those games and we wouldn't have had that many there !!

Similar to the amount Port had last Saturday to be honest . I know the Power was on ( actually it went off !!) but it was a pretty dismal showing .
