They are missing more than just Ladhams. I think they are missing about 4 topline players . I wouldn't write North off .

Main person we're missing is Dean Howard and he aint coming back!
And North dont implode, its more of an explosion with entrails flying in all directions! ;)

Is a loss to Norwood really THAT bad? North hammered South, then put up a great fight against Glenelg, and have now lost to a Norwood side that appears to be generating some real momentum.

Perhaps Norwood just played better on the day...it happens.

The real test for North will be this week vs. the Iggles...

The problem is moreso the way we lost. West would've beaten us on Saturday.

Thanks Bayman, I'll go and add the word "imploding" to the list thread about over-used terms/words in the General Discussion board. :D

How many teams have potentially "imploded" over the last 2 seasons?

Yes, it was a bad performance on Saturday but I have to say the "I" word gets rolld out too quickly on all teams, even if you are just posing a question for discussion.

Ladhams was until he was injured our best player. Of the others who missed last Saturday only Clarke has an excuse so far this year in that he has not played seniors (first run in the ressies last on Sat), the rest have been average at best.

Clarke - see above.
Ward - suspect hammies, doesn't look like he gets out of second gear or is overly bothered. Another big money Koops type addition???
Wintle - again prone to hammies and other soft tissue leg injuries. Has no pace and no power or penetration* with his kicking these days
Ryswyk - soft and seems to have gone backwards since his leg injury late last year.
Motlop - hasn't looked the same since he did his ankle early in 2007 against Centrals and hasn't been fully fit since. Looks lazy and plays the same. A big disappointment since coming back from Melb.

Of those playing:
Ivens is struggling - Needs a run in the two's.
Brett White - See Wintles comments.
Pfieffer - too soft, needs to bulk up.
Lonie - gets lots of it but never goes in hard and doesn't look interested.
Stewart - the coach needs to work out if he is a fwd or a ruckman? Currently he is struggling playing both roles. Stewart prefers being a fwd but at 6ft 7in he is needed in the ruck presently.
Cunningham - give 100 percent but is undersized in height and weight to always be played on the key position fwds but his disposal lets him down and therefore can't play anywhere else.
Those not playing seniors currently:
Schubert - out of favour with the coach for some reason??? Should be in the Seniors at CHB.
Delvins - close, should get a crack this week but needs to improve his disposal then he should be a league regular.
Wade Thompson - quick, tough and exciting but I believe the coaches think he needs to work on his fitness. Needs to be given a chance and soon.
Tony Armstrong - should be in the mix but needs to work on his defensive action.
Marlon Motlop - see Armstrong.
Baulderstone - currently in the 19's, probably should be playing two's and pushing for a league spot as a ruckman from there. He looks good and shows promise.
Wakelin - O'Hara type game plan. Just doesn't do enough around the ground re marks and kicks and I can't see the point of recycling him for this season.
Krieg - good tagger in the seniors but no left foot and poor disposal on his right! Has had his chances IMO. Let him get 30 plus touches in the two's.
Phil Davis - looks like a FF with some promise for the future once he builds his body up but if we continue to slide you may as well give him a crack - what have we got to lose?

Too much reliance also on Damon White and likely Gill now he is back to help out Alleway up fwd. So we have gone back to circa 2004 where we relied on AFL listed players but when you have no other fwds it is lucky we have both White and Gill.

No, we are travelling well at present  and it is only a matter of time before.........(fill in your own answer or guess here).

North had a bad day out but I still expect them to play a big part in the finals. Having a quick look at the draw ahead for the rest of the season I'd expect them to win their two games over Port, West and South and win the next one against Norwood. That gives them 10 wins not counting games against other top 5 contenders which will be enough to ge them there. Then it all starts again in finals.

So what was the story with Michael Burford, I see he's back at Port Pirie, if they need a ruckman which it looks like they do desperately, why did they let him get away or is there more to it. I know he's different but blokes his size and ability don't fall out of trees.

He was only guaranteed the first 3 games given O'Hara had late pre-season knee surgery but I must say I was bemused by his selection. He has a reasonable leap for a bloke around 6ft 3 or just under but he again cannot do anything around the ground and is slow as a big man that I have ever seen play league football. You obviously missed his 3 games this year?

Why Jars and the coaching staff didn't use Matt Down or throw in Sam Baulderstone or even James Wundke is a little baffling - why not try a kid, you never know they may have uncovered a "diamond". Jars said at the season launch he was going to likely give Baluderstone a run early but that hasn't eventuated and he has gone from playing Ressies to palying 19's??? No, not North, and not only did they try and recycle Burford, they are going to recycle Wakelin now he has played the last 2 in the ressies!

I rated him a bit last year, played some good games from what I'd seen...

To answer a couple of the previous posts:

Jars did presso's Sat night. Spoke for 3 minutes and he was not a happy chap! No awards given on the day.

Stribling - has some off field issues so I didn't include him but if he gets back on track he will push eventually for a league spot but mainly he seem to really on be seen as a wingman. It might pay to give him a crack off half fwd with the odd run on the ball?

Even it is all Jars' fault - and on what I saw Sat unless he told them to be LAZY ther's got to be some player culpability - right now I don't give a rats .... between the players and the coaching staff (all locked in now for this season regardless), pull it together FFS and just get the job done from here on!

Come end of season assess the whole lot if things have not worked out like they should have given our list
