Jesse Aish

Postby Sojourner » Sat May 17, 2008 10:00 pm

Noticed that yet again Jesse Aish managed four goals for Norwood 8) , which leads me to wonder what the Crows scouts think of him and if they will take him under the Father and Son rule?

Painfully honest? He's too soft. Is very skillful and can kick freak goals, but when he's up in a 1-on-1 contest I'd back his opponent to win because he doesn't go hard enough. He is very smart though and he did a piece or brilliance today with Puopollo on the wing in the last quarter but he's not AFL standard.

ok, fair enough summary from your point of view, but you forget one thing, in the afl you don't have to man up (except when scores are close late in a game)

Jesse lacks a little bit of pace according to those "in the know" Injuries have not helped either but I think his younger brother currently in the Norwood underage system is a better prospect.

Yeh I don't see him as a speedster but he showed a great turn of pace in one instance today. Couldn't believe my eyes, he burnt his opponent off!

Jesse doesn't do enough to warrant scrutiny from AFL scouts. Yes, one week he will "burn" and boot 4 goals, the next he hardly gets a touch. Just doesn't involve himself enough in general field play at s consistent level.

I will admit he has been plagued with injuries in his short career which isn't helping his consistency, but that may be another reason why AFL scouts may not look at him.

Is Michael Aish still at WA as an assistant? That would be the logical place he'd move to if he left Norwood.
