23 days off for Sturt. Good, Bad or Irrelevant

Postby bosvit » Sat May 17, 2008 7:38 pm

Sturt have about the next 23 days off without a game having the bye then the state game.

Is this going to be Good or Bad for the club?

going by today's skills (given the wind, slippery conditions underfoot) they might need the break.

I'd rather not be in the position of not playing for such an extended period but I don't think it will have a big influence.

The Blues would have to turn it around for the Better.

Looking through Dog_gers rose coloured glasses.

A God send

Has there ever been a situation where a club's players have had enough time to fit in a Contiki tour mid season?
It's all the SANFL's fault.

I think it's been a great effort by the club, played everyone, only dropped 2 games out of 8 straight, would prefer that we had a break after the state game though. I think the boys are looking forward to a break though.

I think Westies have got a "rawer" deal with the draw - they had a bye in round 1 and will also have a 21 day break over the state bye.

What's more interesting in some ways is that both Sturt and West face North in their first games back after 3 weeks off - is that good, bad or irrelevant for the Roosters?

Ha Im a Bloods man and didn't notice

21 days off with the red hot form we are in could be very dangerous for us.

Next week we had better pull out all stops and consolidate our position on the ladder

I don't think the players would mind the extended break, though for Sturt, many of their key players will be involved in the State Game, so they will still have some sore and battered bodies upon their return to SANFL minor round matches...

The break only ever seems to bother supporters, though if your side is travelling well, then you have a break, you do worry that it has the potential to halt the momentum...

A good thing to give then a rest after 8 hard weeks and work on some skills. Plus what is it 6 or 7 Sturt guys will have a run in the state team so for them it not a full 23 days anyway.
