Listened to Phil and John on Life FM on the way home from our uninspiring win against The Bloods today...

The general concesus from the boys and the reporter who was at the Sturt v Port game was that Port are playing some good football but are shooting themsleves in foot with extreme innacurracy in front of goal...

If Port can straighten up their goal kicking and we play as incipintly as we did today, the Maggies will be a real chance for the win...

In saying that though, I think Roy Laird will expect and demand a much more improved oufit to front Port at Alberton next Sunday. Hopefully the inclusion of a couple of small goal kicking forward such as Callinan and Ware will give us a bit more spark and fire power up forward. I'd anticipate a much improved Doggies to have a tight, hard fought win, similar to that of their round 1 20 point victory over Port.

MY TIP: Centrals 18 - 30 points

GO U DOGGIES...

Big Phil...

P.S - Nice to meet you today before the call of the game Phil H

What does incipintly mean, Big Phil? Does it have six or eight legs?

We are playing bloody awful, boring, uninspiring footy. This might sound odd but I think that We need to start losing a few games because it appears as though We have lost the passion. Port will win next week by 10 goals.

I hope you're right Jimmy, I'd love nothing more for us to thrash the Maggies at Alberton...

If we can play at our best and have a strong convincing win, it might just kick start us getting out of our "average form" slump.

An added bonus for a Doggies win is that it would officially be Centrals 500th SANFL League WIN since it's inception to the comp.

That would make it even sweeter beating Port for our 500th win. Thanks to CC on the Centrals forum for that statistic.

Hey Footy Fans,

Here is the Doggies "squad" released for Sunday's clash against Port @ Alberton

CENTRAL DISTRICT FOOTBALL CLUB LEAGUE SQUAD

Full Forward: Luke Cowan, Daniel Havelberg, Scott Dutschke

Half Forwards: Chad O'Sullivan, Heath Lawry, Trent Goodrem

Centre Line: Paul Thomas, James Gowans, Leigh Westhoff

Half Backs: Adam Switala, Daniel Schell, Ryan Williams

Full Backs: Andrew Hayes, Yves Sibenaler, Richard Cochrane

Rucks: Jonathon Giles, Luke McCabe, Matthew Slade

Interchange (from): Jason Mackenzie, Elijah Ware, Cameron Faulkner and Brayden O'Hara.

As I thought would be the case, Elijah "Noodles" Ware comes into the squad on an extended interchange bench. If he is fit, he will surely play League and you would say brayden O'Hara would be ommitted after his debut last week against the Bloods. I thought Earl Shaw may have come in for Jonathon Giles but selectors seem to be showing a liitle bit of faith in the Power listed ruckman. Ian Callinan misses once again with his hammy issue and as mentioned on another topic, you would think he will now miss the State Game next week and get his injury right for the following week. Does anyone have the Maggies team yet ? I know Wilbur Wilson got a call up to the Power so he is at least 1 change.

Agree with the first bit Centurion. Nothing like a game against the Magpies to wake the Bulldogs from their slumber. Bring it on! Woof!

According to the injury AFL and SANFL injury updates from Wednesday;s paper, it has him listed as a further 2 weeks away...

Like I've mentioned soemwhere else on here, it must mean the hammy was worse than first thought or since the Eagles game (where i spoke to him personally during the reserves game at Woodville where he said he'll be back for Port) he has perhaps had aother little niggle and therefore set himself back another 2 games. Again, like I've already mentioned, that'll keep him out of Sunday's clash with the Maggies and will surely therefore rule him out of contention for the state game next week.

Gees, we wouldn't want him to risk it just to come back for a state game too early and risk doing it again more missing more games for Centrals, I know I'd be pissed off if that happened, especially when you consider he's not even an South Aussie, has actually played for the Vics already and told me down at Woodville he is not fussed 1 little bit if he doesn't play so it's not like he'll do evrything he can to get up for the game.

Or perhaps the dogs realised that Callinan would be a bit iffy for this game and decided to officially list him as 2 weeks rather than "test" to give him an extra fortnight to make sure it doesn't re-occur.

Noodles when in form brings a much needed skilled ball carrier that is lacking across the board in the SANFL I feel. He needs more game time to get his form back after an interrupted start to the season. Still a formidable team despite not being in great form. Thomas will be raring to go after a quiet one last week. Dogs should win this one but sputtering form as usual in the first 2 months of a season mean that Port are far from out of it.

Dan Havelberg has been a little dissappointing this season for mine. I neve expect him to kick 14 goals in a game again, but while he finishes superbly when he gets the ball he just needs to get it a little more often IMHO.

Havelberg won't get a kick on Achee sunday. Actually I don't think Port will waste their time matching Achee up on him.
As a matter of fact i think Port will win this game. As bad as Port are spasmotically playing, i don't think Centrals are setting the world on fire & they are far from the dominant side of previous years.
When Port look down & out, thats when you need to be wary of them.
