VFL Squad Named for State Game

VFL Squad Announced, plenty of familiar names with SANFL backgrounds.

Here is the state squad

Bendigo Bombers (1) - Hayden Skipworth

Box Hill Hawks (2) - Steve Kenna, Alister Neville

Casey Scorpions (2) - James Wall, Andrew McQualter

Coburg Tigers (2) - Jarrod Silvester, Tristan Cartledge,

Collingwood (2) - Liam Jurrah, Danny Nicholls

Frankston (1) - Justin Berry

Geelong (2) - Matthew Firman, James Byrne

North Ballarat (5) - Brett Goodes, Orren Stephenson, Tom Roach, Michael Searl, Jacob Spolding

Northern Bullants (1) - Adam Iacobucci

Port Melbourne (3) - John Baird, Cory McGrath, Robin Nahas

Sandringham (5) - Peter Summers, Shane Valenti, Ezra Poyas, Nicholas Sautner, Rod Crowe

Tasmania (3) - Cameron Thurley, Nathan Street, James Charlesworth

from my memory 7 players on that list have played sanfl, 'mirrors' no doubt will get a 'pay out' from mt79 & i might even join in as well :wink:

it is interesting to see Dean Galea in the VFL side. I don't doubt his talent but unless someone inserted a brain he is useless once rattled, which isn't hard

So they've got Kenna, and we have Callinan... 3 years ago it was the other way around...

Does kind of show the whole thing as a bit of a farce really...

Is that Brett Johnson ex Hawthorn and Carlton?

If so I thought he was a little underrated in his AFL days.

James Byrne will be getting plenty of heat from yours truly- worst skipper ever!

LOL...theres some gold Drebin!

$50k I believe, PAMFC the only club that was prepared to pay him that!

As a Hawks fan, I was more than happy he left the club. Always believed that his thought process was a bit slow, caught holding the ball, rushed into poor disposal ect
