From a well supported round to a not so well supported round

Postby spell_check » Wed May 14, 2008 11:23 pm

The lowest total attendance for Round 8 since 1991 is 10,811, in 1999.

Going on the weather forecast for Saturday, that is likely to be broken.

Oh well, at least us Eagles fans can't be blamed for bringing down the crowds...this time. ;)

Which average? You can't average out the average crowd for a team vs a bye (zero) - it's just 0, nought and nil. ;)

Reckon we'll be lucky to get 2000 at Richmond (Broadspectrum) for the West v Central game...

I think the weather certainly will have an effect on crowd figures, plus some Doggies fans would possibly be assuming we will have a comfy
win and may chose to stay at home, keeping warm and dry rather then go out in the wet... ???

Regardless, I'll be there from the start of the ressies game, doing my match reviews, rain, hail or shine (might get all 3 on Saturday ??!!)

GO U DOGGIES...

That's the spirit. :) You can never have enough people to go and watch the footy regardless of the weather.

That, and the fact that Dogs' attendances have been lower this season than in recent times...

Why is that?

I reckon we might still just squeeze 10k, Sturt and Port will still be well attended, Im relying upon Norwood and Glenelg fans travelling though (which should happen). Noarlunga should be fine, everyone can sit in their cars or in the enclosed members area at the top of the stand, at Richmond the Bar with the glass front will be ideal. Not much protection for the poor soles at Prospect and Unley though. :(
