The clubs first met in 1878, but South Adelaide has been around just as long – and no-one hates them

Not sure if hate is the right word Wedgie, very mixed emotions is the best way I can summarise.
I got to know too many good, long sufferring supporters down South last year to harbour resentment against them all.

The best I can do is move on and I have done this by
- Foucssing that emotion into two positive projects - the Media Guide & one with the Eagles I am keeping under wraps for now.
- Succeeding to best of my ability in my current job
- Enjoying the media work I have still retained in the SANFL, suffice to say I feel a lot better about things now the season has started (longest summer in living memory) & I get to call with John Nankivell on LifeFM each week.

My final act of closure will be to go and call a game at Noarlunga ... that will happen soon enough. Whilst most ex-players focus on their emotions to motivate them to a higher level against their old club, for me I will need to do the opposite and do the job the listeners expect, ie be rational, objective and descriptive in the broadcast of the game.

The article has one mistake in it, James is Phil's nephew, not his son. Good read nonetheless.

It was written by a West Adelaide supporter. You should be impressed he could type, but asking that author  :) to have complete control of facts really is asking a lot.
