I think we're hosting a Gawler South / Gawler Centrals BLG match prior to the main game.
Something like that...

Actually, no thanks for that, Snappy - it brought back a bad memory!!
Will be a great match. We certainly need to keep McKenzie (best player in SA) and Passador quiet.

Cheers

why would we bother playing a country game before the league instead of the reserves?

Who cares about a Gawler game, I'd rather watch the reserves at Elizabeth than Woodville.

PD - this is a massive opportunity for a country club to show off its brand of footy.
A huge chance for CDFC to develop better relations with its rural zone - something which is very important.
Don't tell me Central United wouldn't jump at the chance to have this opportunity.

I think its a great innovation and can only be a win/win for both comps, South should do it more often with the Southern Football League.
Not sure if it could work with other clubs but I wouldn't mind seeing a Gaze, Broadview or Kilburn game for something different before the main event.

My hats off to Central, well done!

Andrew?

Broadview v Gaza would be the game to have if having one- fierce rivals, & close to Prospect (although Fitzroy is close too...)

extra details in eagle news #5

Next saturday for us

At Woodville Oval:
9:10am U17
11:50am Reserves
2:30pm U19

At Hamra Homes:
6:30pm League.

Prior to the league game will be a legends game.
The curtain raiser at Hamra Homes Oval is a Barossa & Light League game - CDFC supporting their zone league plus a way to bring extra supporters to the game. Thus the 2 clubs worked together and moved the Reserves to Woodville.

Both clubs believe is worth a try with the zone league and hopefully bringing people to the game plus eagles fans wouldnt have to be at Elizabeth at 11:15 for the Reserves and then wait around til 6:30 for the league with the Barossa and Light game in between..
