This was when the SACA had just installed its first video screen and they decided to replay it for all to see. Not enjoyable to see.

This is actually not a nice thread.

Don't know if it's the worst I've "seen", but certainly the worst I've "heard". Colbey snapped an achilles tendon at Footy Park against Norwood in 1976 (it was either round 4 or 5).
I was with a mate in the crowd and we heard a "bang" and Colbey went down. We joked that he had been shot, but that was the noise the archilles made as it snapped. Incredible.

As was the case with Nathan Brown's broken leg at Richmond, the bloody media keep replaying these severe injuries over and over about 5 times in 30 seconds. Poor Logan Hill, that was pretty bad wasn't it. It was amazing that there wasn't much reaction on his face immediatley after the break, it probably wasn't until he looked down and saw it for himself that the pain seemed to kick in and the realisation he was in trouble would have settled in.
Although not eventuating from the same type of circumstances, Logan Hill's broken leg was similar to the one seen recently in the English Premier League. For those that didn't see it or forgot (i'm sure there is footage on the net somewhere) but Birmingham City's James McFadden ran in for a diving two foot tackle on Arsenal's Eduardo leg, breaking it clean in two places !!!
Ouch !!! Hopefulyl, young Logan will not be out of the game for too long, good luck to him in his recovery from this horriffic injury.
A few other severe footy injuries, not neccesarily just in the SANFL that come to mind include Trent Hentschel's knee injury in a Showdown that doctors said resembled a massive car crash victim's injuries. Then there was James Hird absolutely smashing his face to pieces on Mark McVeigh's knee over in WA, Danny Morton's back neck injury playing for the Power a few years ago, that tragic incident that saw Neil Sachse become a quadriplegic, the list could go on...

Also i think it was white who got kicked in the face by king. It didnt get much media i dont think but they also said that his injury resembled a car accident when the person hits there face on the steering wheel. broke clean across just below his nose..... apparently you could hear the crack up in the stands.....
cam roberts was bad due to the shock he went into and the way he held it made it visually so much worse
