BIG game for South this one. Lose and the respect they have earnt following their 3-0 start will evaporate as other sides will believe it was just an apparition and the "real" South has returned.

Win here and they are 4-1 and setting themselves up for a shot at the finals.

This, the last post of the preview thread pretty well sums up South's predicament.
But what do make of option "C"?

Yes, the Legs should be mighty p1ssed off that they let this one slip.
The Panthers on the other hand have achieved their biggest comeback to date. Pity for them they didn't capitalize on it, but that surely sounds a warning to other clubs that though the Panther may looked screwed, he will pounce as soon as you drop your gaurd,
The SMAC weather report on Parade said that the weather was woeful, so they made up that deficit in wet slippery conditions also if I understand correctly.
I think Jack has instilled character in to this team.

it would have to be the most amazing match i've seen in a long time, the first quarter south dominated & only led by 2 points at quarter time, then in the 2nd term it was norwoods turn to dominate especially when torney went off & looked good at times & terrible at other times & the same could be said of south & by half way through the 3rd term norwood had got to a 43 point lead & had kicked 8 unanswered goals, then late in the 3rd the tide turned again & south started to control basically the rest of the game, parry took 2 marks on the goal line in the last quarter which ultimately got them the draw, player of the future is taylor walker, i've seen him twice now & he is a class act with a great pair of hands

Just got back in from the Parade!

Really enjoyed the game, thought we were gone for all money in the latter part of the second quarter, yet as has been the case in all our games bar the one against Sturt, we showed character and gritted our way back into it this time with a draw. The siren went as we were making another blast into our forward fifty, so another ten seconds and it could have been ours, yet there is always an "only if" in Footy I suppose!

South have much work to do to make sure that we can be a club that plays competitively week in and week out, yet I do feel that the Panthers are begining to really play out four quarters of football and the side does look fitter and stronger than last years side and the difference is quite noticable.

Aaron Kite played really well for Norwood and I wont be surprised if he gets his go with the Crows sooner rather than later!

Brickbats however to some idiot from Norwood who during the Anzac day ceremony and customary silence had to open his hole and yell "Norwood", which was really tacky and showed a massive amount of disrespect to not only the ANZAC legend but his own team that were observing the silence along with everyone else, still there are always going to be d1ckheads involved at any SANFL club attempting to ruin it for everyone else I suppose!

Norwood won the reserves and played quite a high standard of game in doing so. For South I felt that Curtis Perrey played a really good game and made a good case for his inclusion in the league side!

Would be interesting to have been in the rooms afterwards, its always an interesting feeling when the result is a draw, yet considering that we did make up a seven goal deficit I would suspect that John Cahill would be relitivley pleased with the result, especially that we got out of a loss by a goal kicked in the last minute or so!

What a bizarre game.

Should have been further up at 1/4 time, Norwood were woeful at the beginning.
South completely controlled the play until we hit our forward line.
Second quarter, got shat on.
Third quarter hit our straps again, and finally scrounged for a draw in the last.

That last few seconds was horrible.
Was on my feet screaming "HHHAAAANNNDDDBBBYYY" - we finally kicked it to him... he's wobbling all over the place, groggy as all hell, ball is in mid air, he looks a sure bet to mark it.... and.... *siren*.

Can never be happy with a draw, but given our abysmal percentage, that extra point might prove pretty handy down the track.

Strange feeling... think our supporters have a hell of a lot more to be happy about than Norwood's.

I too have just returned home and how many more rabbits does Jack have in his hat left? Legs fans seem to be irate that the men in white decided to have a shocker. South deserved to be further in front at the first change but Norwood played the much better footy in the 2nd. The Panthers worked their way back into it in the 3rd and this inspired me to trudge out to their huddle at the last change. Jack and the Coaching staff were fairly laid back with their address and seemed to not be panicking. The supporters were showing real confidence and the players although didn't get the choccies didn't disappoint.

30 minutes of garbage footy cost us this one. Credit to the boys in fighting back like they did. The second year in a row South have had a draw on anzac weekend

Like last week, absolutely no defensive pressure inside our forward 50. Really need to work on this. Also much too Warren focused. Zorzi wore him like a glove for most of the night. Ellis needs to presenting more.

A few more seconds and we might have pinched it.

Handby played a great game. Boyd good again, as were Baird, Otten, Parry. Liked the look of Kite for the legs. Aish and Zorzi are all class.

Any word on Torney?

One positive of getting a draw is that it will most likely make our % irrelevant.

Was stuck in meetings during pretty much the whole match and was very pleased to get a final text from JAS saying it was a draw. Whilst I would prefer a win I am happy to take a draw in these circumstances. I don't think I have ever seen a South side come from 43 points down in the 3rd quarter to get someting out of the game. And who knows, the draw may come in handy at some point. Whilst our second quarter must have been pretty average it is a good sign to see the side tough it out and fight to the end....if we keep doing that then we will continue to improve and hopefully win some more games....

Pretty shattered to be honest, how on earth we let that game slip is beyond me. We were totally DOMINANT in the second quarter and for 10 minutes of the third. We got out by 6 or 7 goals, and we still let them come back. They kicked about 2 or 3 goals late in the third term and when I looked at the scoreboard and it read that we were only 3 goals ahead I was shocked. We seemed to let them back in the game as our options dried up across the ground and South started winning every contested ball. Andy Otten destroyed us, kicking 4 goals as well as having 25 odd possessions.

The sad reality is that if the game had gone on for another minute South would've won as they were all over Norwood.

A draw isn't good enough.

While a poor standard of skill on display from both sides the final quarter certainly got everyone interested and vocal. From a "football was the winner" point of view probably a fair result as both sides created plenty of opportunities but took advantage of few of them.

That's stunning info about the weather - it rained at my place for at least two thirds of the match duration and I'm only a few km's from the Parade.
