Taylor Walker's first up effort for the Legs on Friday night was an absolute beauty. The 17 year old Crow draftee kicked 4.4 (should have been at least 7) in his first senior match and showed heaps of poise and great goal sense. Looks like the Crows are finally getting their act together with their recruiting. Can anyone recall a better SANFL debut in recent years?

Not recent, but I think Ian Wilmott made his debut in that infamous game at the Parade in 1983.

Definitely not recent, but it would be hard to go past Michael Smith, who kicked 7 or 8 goals from a half-forward flank against West Torrens in 1982 or 1983(?).

Mike went on to be a part of West's 1983 premiership team.

Not recent either but I am pretty sure John Platten kicked 5 goals in a best on ground display in his first ever league game.
The week before he played reserves after being rushed in from the 19s and dominated that game kicking 7 goals.

Maybe Scott Simister, who was a late inclusion for Westies in first game of the season, when Geoff Morris was coach.I think he kicked 6 goals.

Greg Anderson kicked 5 goals from a wing on debut against sturt at footy park .

I think both Aaron Fiora and Nathan Buckley had pretty good debut games for Port as well.

Nick Stevens played his first game with westies and had a blinder and the coach at the time Mick Taylor said 'it was nice having you Nick enjoy your AFL career'.

Yep, that was the debut. He got 6 goals that game and played an integral part in making up a 36 point deficit with 10 minutes left to play, and delivering a 7 point victory to the Double Blues in front of a packed Parade.

Going back a bit, but I think Peter Motley had a phenomenal debut. Bruce Lennon was a little more recent, but still pretty far back in 1988. Can't quote any figures for them. Sorry.
