North & South Share After Match Presentations

Postby Wedgie » Sun Apr 13, 2008 8:20 pm

Not sure if anything like this has been done before but Im looking forward to it, will be different!

SOUTH V NORTH - new after match presentation format

Members are advised that the Clubs have agreed to a new format for this season which shall apply both at Prospect and Noarlunga. Rather than trekking back to the Hampstead in our case, or Noarlunga in theirs after away games, we shall conduct a combined after presentation at the host club.

* MC shall announce the results of all minor grade games
* Both Senior Coaches , Andrew Jarman and Jack Cahill, shall give an overview of the game
* Best players from each Club to receive their awards.

interesting & intriguing concept, it would be like a footy inquest & hearing what both sides thought immediately after the game, well done to both clubs

how would this be received having it happen like that with all clubs ?

what would happen if it was a very dirty & spiteful game ? would it be dangerous (to a degree) to have supporters from both teams in the same room ?

I would sooner hit my thumb with a hammer for a half an hour than listen to Jarman talk about anything.

As Theile says, this was going to be the format for the Presentations at the West v South game on the weekend.

I would say that I am in favour of the idea, I enjoying getting meals at various competitor clubs venues and feel that by holding joint presentations it puts more coin into the host venue which cant be a bad thing. Besides which it promotes sportsmanship which can only make the SANFL a better competiton. Banter on through the game and buy each other a beer afterwards - sounds pretty Australian if you ask me!

Kuhlmann - Boy could he kick a screwy........

I think it's a good initiative by the clubs.
A better opportunity for opposition clubs and players to share a few after the match.

Dont like the idea. Your club should be YOUR club, not a community centre. But that's just my opinion, red in one eye, blue in the other. If we lost and the other team were there I'd be dark. If we won and the other team were there, I'd be just as dark - go to your own club!

That could well be the best 30 minutes of your life! I pose this to you - if South win the first encounter at Prospect (which is well on the cards) then win the return leg at home, I will bet you London to a brick Jars will use the same speach!
