Maybe they found out that Chris was injured in round 1 and James has been playing in his place since then...

I would imagine the Sunday Mail are only printing information phoned through to them, so I doubt it is their fault, it would be the fault of the person reporting the information.

Surely the person reporting the info is employed by the Sunday Mail
Therefore the Mail is at fault.

I would think the statistics would be supplied by the clubs, the Sunday Mail certainly wouldn't have employees taking stats, so the J Gowans thing wouldn't be their fault.

The Advertiser / Sunday Mail supply 2 stats persons for each SANFL game independant of team employed by each club.
You will find them sitting right next to the Advertiser / Sun Mail reporter at each game
I think they fax through the sheets at the end of the game.

While we're at it, can we change the title of this thread to "Sunday Mail, get it right!"
Everytime I see the thread title I think you're congratulating them on getting something right, rather than wrong.

Sounds like doubling up to me. Two sets of people sitting there compiling the same stats :)

Tripling up AH -- a virtual stats army for each club & Te 2 from the Tiser.
The WAFL worked to merge it all together with an everyone all access to the same info.
There were some major teething issues back in 2005. Not sure if they worked it out or not.
Also some clubs are taking stats outside of the square, ie one use to record the "care factor" the number of teammates who would come accross and congraulate a team mate who kicked a goal, did something else well.

No no no DW, remember the Queen's grammar:

The imperative form of the verb "to get" is simply get. Therefore for a command, one would write "Sunday Mail get it right".

Since Sunday Mail is singular and third-party, the correct conjugation of the verb "to get" is gets Therefore if one wanted to describe the Sunday Mail succeeding, one would write "Sunday Mail gets it right".

In sum, Grant's thread title was correct. In future, get it right!

It would be nice if the 19s and 17s quarter scores were in there...

well if we see ben hook & co's article they state about the loss of coverage on abc2 but wont elaborate who the army of sanfl fans are, if your going to report what you read on here (or anywhere for that matter) you should have the courtesy of saying where you got it from

One thing that really annoys me about having my team play on Friday nights is the game statistics are never printed in the Advertiser on the Saturday, and because the game isn't played on the Saturday they aren't printed in the Sunday Mail.

So, your team plays on Friday evening and you have to wait until Monday morning to see the stats. It's a minor complaint, but nonetheless annoying.
