Sturt we're bloody awesome today. Sould have been close to 10 goals up at half time.

Very disciplind in their structures and cut North to pieces in the guts with their centre square set ups and set plays in teh first half.

Will take a very good side to beat them this year.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

And Sturt fans will have something certain to look forward to this year, at the very least. The longest current head to head winning streak will end.

A full forward that can kick 100+ and CHF that is capable of 70 to 80+, a couple of dominant ruckman, smaller players that run all day and a coach that knows how to put a game plan together, thats what I saw today, they were very impressive and probably should have won by a lot more such was their dominance

Fair play to Sturt. Just too good all over the oval.

Bloody Perrie  Someone suggested his best footy might be yet to come now he has the weight of not playing for the Cows lifted. Never really seemed to work at North, was too inconsistent.

Seen the light Tassie?

Sounds like an awesome display!
I couldn't even listen to the call today, but so far all reviews have us in complete control. I read the "footyblogcall" by BlueBenchie on doubleblue.org, and I got a bit worried when the Roosters kicked a few to begin the third quarter, the surrendered lead at AO last year is still a sore point for me. Still early days but things are different this year.
Top of the table clash, Sturt vs South. Who would have thought it?
GO YOU MIGHTY BLUES!!!

Nah mate just there doing so preliminary scouting for the bays.

Got a few things written down for the coaches to look at on the video but gee you have a good centre square set up and the rotations through there had the North players and coaching staff confused. Took them ages to work out what was going on it seemed as it wasn't until the start of the 3rd qtr they worked out what was going on or made the move to try and stop it.

Sturt are a very very good side ATM TRB, hard to see them not pushing deep into Sept/Oct.

quite simple, picked it up in the first term mins, North take a mark or get a free in the defensive area, give away 25 so you can flood back, then get one wingman and one half back run forward as the ball is delievered into Norths Forward line, ball fall free, off you go as it did cause you big blokes dropped back, wasn't the rotations that had us confused, you guys had a lot of pace and space, but you just followed the doggies play against North of stopping the run, although you guys won easy if I was McGowan I would be a tad disappointed because quite simple you were a 15 to 20 goal better side today and in a contest that doesnt happen often, think you will find next time you play North it will be a different type of ballgame

Just got home an going through the photos now.
What can I say?
Sturt comprehensively beat North everywhere today, were a 10-15 goal better side.
No excuses.
Biggest cheer at Prospect today was when we heard Harg had kicked 10 goals! :D

Today's game showed clearly identified one of the GF teams and no need to guess who I am talking about. Sturt were a good class above North and some "people" at the NAFC need to have a good hard look at themselves.

I hope after Sturt left the visitors rooms that some of our (NAFC) "officials" checked to see if they left copies of their game plan because the North version is officially redundant. 5 years with the same 1 dimensional style has definately passed it's use by date.

An idea for North training / recovery tommorow would be to watch the tape of the game in two parts. 1st part what North did right - that should use up 6 minutes of the overall time (us running out and the warm up). The second part should be watching what Sturt did well - that will use up the remaining 114 minutes.

A long year looming large at Prospect.

Allen is a big out for North, should Thomson play, as you would assume, it'll be hard for North to control the stoppages and with a bit of rain good onballers could be the key. Sturt by 30.

We are not a one man midfield (like at times last year)

Archard, O'Brien, Ladhams and Younie are not a bad on ball quartet plus you can throw Shannon Motlop, Krieg and Wintle (if he plays?) into the middle as well.

My "mail" is Ivens and Wintle will not play and D. White will come in.

Given we are still unsettled and it is only our second game, I think Sturt may get up but we are more than capable of winning so it wouldn't be an upset in the strict sense of the word.

Above was a reply to a post in the pre-match thread. I was wrong. No Allan, No North midfield although Ladhams can hold his head high. The rest well...............
