Trouble and strife out east?

Hearing a high priced harbourside recruit might me missing up to half the season after his fist made contact with a hard object while drunkenly celebrating his 21st birthday last saturday night, result a broken hand.

Seems like another winter of discontent looming out that side of town.

Has to be Simon Phillips, his birthday was the 5th April according to the website.
He is from the Harbourside ( sydney swans )

Player not being spoken to in the reserves? I'll go with Duigan or Nitschke

am i close ?

Can anyone confirm this?

If so how bad is the injury and what did he punch?

Yep, because our whole season depended upon that very player not getting injured. Our flag chances have really taken a dive now.

Speaking of issues at other clubs.....

Did anyone hear the rumor with KG & Cornsey on 5AA tonight ??? It involved a club that resides just off Main North Road, PROSPECT ???

Cornsey read out that someone has said Chris Ladhams was going to be leaving the Roosters due to a big falling out / disagreement with one of his BIG named assistants. When I say big, I mean reasonably big as in Mr Darren Jarman. Didn't say what it was actually about or anything else ?

Did go onto say they had a phone call from North Adelaide Footy Club saying that is was false and incorrect ????

You never really believe much of these rumors that get thrown around these days but wonder if there is any truth to this one ? I know Chris was a bit unsure about his palying future late last year and I reckon there was some talk he was going to play locally with his brother I think at Gepps Cross maybe ?

Just interesting to hear if anyone like Wedgie, or anyone else close to the club, that had heard anything similiar ???

Big Phil...

It is no secret that Ladhams was undecided on his future going back to the middle of last year. There was "talk" of him playing in the country or in the ammos but he signed a 1 year extension for 2008.

I understand he and another high profile player were put on notice about their "conditioning" when pre-season started but to Ladhams credit he is looking fitter and sharper than he did all through 2007 and was BOG in round 1.

The fact he had a disagreement (if that occured recently?) with a member of the coaching staff should come as no suprise as he has an "interesting" personality.

Don't forget this is the same player who had a punch up at the pre-season camp with the skipper and packed his bags to leave. I suspect there will be plenty more "ups and downs" for him through season 2008.

Is it any surprise that some league footballers have fiery tempers/personalities and often disagree with coaching staff? I'd be disappointed if there were no one like that left at my club.

It's knowing when to calm it down and get on with the job that makes a difference, it appears Ladhams has done this and good on him.

You'd be absolutely livid if you were the Norwood coaching staff.

With all due respect Hawk, 'Flag chances' isn't a term being associated with Norwood just at the minute, no matter who is or is not available. These 'flag chances' are likely to be put right into perspective over the next couple of weeks with the 'Dogs and Eagles fixtures.

FWIW, I would imagine Trevor, Trevor and Brodie would be fuming if this is true because by all reports, the kid (Phillips) can play.
