It's time to go, Tim Giniver.
Maybe a great bloke and a champion footballer, but the Port Magpies we have all hated, feared and respected has left the league....
looking at the draw it could be Round 6 until they get a win!
And s it true that a PORT supporter in teh Bowling Club suggested to Hargs yesterday that he is the worst forward the club has had for 20 years?

Yeah and there might be also one started on here about Ronnie if we lose again also
Giniver isn’t the only one in the hot seat!

Tim would be looking at the stats sheet and tearing his hair out
- 56 more kicks, 20 more handballs thats 76 more possessions
- won ruck hitouts 31-7
- 7 more scoring shots
- even got more frees 22-19
...... yet the Magpies still came up short at home
Just shows there is only one stat that matters, the scoreboard at the end of the game.

while it is always great to put the boots into port, surely a 20 point loss at elizabeth is respectable, also while yesterday would be a very dissapointing result for them they must have shown heart to get as close as they did considering with 4 or 5 minutes to go they couldn't win & yet almost did, fwiw i think tim is ordinary in the coaching ranks tactically, but has he got the players to play finals ? if not he may have an ordinary team playing for each other & tim maybe better than i think & if tim 'did go' who would replace him ?

Fair enough bayman
Common knowledge Ports didnt have the financial revenue available to go out and buy a premiership, i think its good that they were smart enough to bring down some country youth, blended with their team from last year and some good juniors they have to set the foundations for the future.
Why does Timmy get the blame for the financial woes of the club that is the poor relation to the Power now, Give timmy time and its only week 2 and its a long season and lets not forget they have early injuries and players

who missed chinks of the pre-season so from an outsider i say "Get Of Timmys Back"

They should of given Matty Knights a little more time too, not just one year.
How longs Tim been coaching for & are his results better than Knights?

We definately need Clive back. Hargy just isn't up to it anymore, in both skill level and effort.

Judging by how Knights went, Timmy can smile.
He'll be the next coach of the Bombers.

I am not one to bag the Coach but some of the player selections and players who get dropped are leaving me confused.not to mention some of the moves as well!!
And just for the port fans a port mate said to me yesterday your guy cost us the game .vinnie must have missed 3 easy goals .Reminded him of where vinnie came from

it is sad the decline of a once very proud successful club, as I one eyed supporter Port seem to have just about hit rock bottom, confidence, players, depth, you name it the Maggies seem to be suffering......
they have the basics of a very good side but lack forwards, the decision to pick up Hargreaves to this day is just beyond me!!!!................
i know everyone seems to blame Tim Ginever and fair enough he has many questions that need to be answered but i believe its a much bigger issue involving all elements of the club.........
cant see the Maggies making the finals for the next 2-3 season unless something dramatic happens...........but i hope I'm wrong.........

Just hold your horses...
The Legs now face what should be an angry Centrals next week at Hamra Homes Oval...
Remember what happened in the corresponding game last year... 34 goals to 8
I hope Roy Laird throws Havelberg, who kicked 14 goals last time they met, up into the forward lines ??!!
The spotlight might only be of Hilly temporarily.... ??
Actually, to be honest, I don't think it will be anything like last years game, we should still win but maybe only by 10 goals, not 20 ? !!!
GO U DOGGIES...
Big Phil...

On the evidence of a narrow win against a deplorable Port team and an eight goal loss to Sturt?

Have only heard positive things about Tim as a top bloke.
Sturt has learnt people from outside the Club Scene have been more successful at Unley than e.g. Rick Davies. A champion bloke doesn't necessarily equate to a good Senior Coach.
E.G. Ebert, Robran etc.
I hope Tim is at least given more time as he is undoubtedly popular down at Alberton.
