In previous years Ive copied and pasted the info onto here, but this year the SANFL have 'prettied' up their pdf version so I'll just post a link since the NAFC have already uploaded it, enjoy!

Thanks for the link Wedgie

Geez they've gone a bit pdf happy this year...almost every link is in pdf...shame they don't seem to be doing those team graphics with the opposing players marked on an oval anymore.
Btw where on the SANFL site did they find that one...can't see it anywhere.

Regards
JAS

All their press releases in the time Ive been running SAFooty have been in pdf, I just convert them for looks purposes on here.
pdf annoys the crap out of me, I wish they and North would give up on it.

I don't think the Media Coverage/Injury Update is on their website, they send out their press releases by email. I got a copy and could have uploaded it but North saved me the trouble.

Let the holy wars begin!

Yep, I hate receiving MS Word stuff too.

What a bad injury list for Port, almost all of those players would walk into our starting 21. Murray is a big loss, as is the absence of Mickeljohn, especially if Maric gets a call up.

Thought the same thing...different reaction though maybe.

In reply to the SANFL pdf copy that Wedgie put up, it says that the ABC TV coverage begins at 2.30pm, but if you watched their coverage last week Neil Cross said that their coverage is now extended & that all telecasts this year will begin at 2.00pm

Yep 2pm start for the ABC last week.
Mind you it raises the question, if 2.20 was too late for ABC coverage that started at 2.30 (this argument led to ABC matches being moved to 2.15) how come 2.00 is OK for coverage that starts at 2.00?

Mind you Im stoked theres half an hour extra coverage this year. Just goes to show finance cant be an issue for the cut on ABC2, just laziness.

Last week (every week from now on) the telecast began at 2.00pm & they showed the actual game from 2.10pm.

Wedgie, the reason is that they are allocating a sholw hour extra for SANFL footy on Saturday afternoons. A massive win for the SANFL community in my books, and with 5AA doing an SANFL show as well we have a fantastic chance to support those 2 entities and show everyone there is currency in covering the SANFL.

Its half an hour and I said Im stoked but Im just curious why they can do now what they couldnt last year or for some of the year previous to that.
You didnt answer any question I raised and only explained that you agree with my point that the extra coverage is good so thanks I think.

Sorry.

I can only imagine that they wanted the game to finish early so they could go to other programs at 5pm. I assume this is still the case, though, as it would be much more convenient to end TV coverage on the hour or half hour.

Neil Cross also said on the broadcast last week that it was their intention to use most of the time taken for a half-time break to show footage of games from yester-year. This would account for the extra half hour, & as Grahaml said, they have to be off-air at 5.00pm.
I know what you're saying, Wedgie, that none of this has happened in previous years, & I really don't know why, but it's better late than never.

No worries, we all agree the extra coverage is great (pity those interstate wont get to enjoy it), I definately wasnt crtitising their motives this year but those in previous years.
As a slight aside I was very crtical of the ABCs coverage about 4 or 5 years ago but think it is fantastic these days. The improvement in several areas (especially camera work) has been fantastic.

Is pdf supposed to be the quickest thing to upload? Cause I agree, it's sh1t. It's hard try and scroll down the page and if you've got dial-up it's worse.

Nah, its definately not even close to the quickest thing to upload but its used extensively because once its been released in a format it cant be altered like other things can. Sometimes things look different in different browers, in emails, etc but pdf is pretty static.
Still a heap of crap though.

That's true, so me personally can't just copy and paste the info into another document. Figures.

Longer time for SANFL on ABC TV may be due to the demise of the National Netball league which use to be on prior to SANFL coverage.
The new transtasman ANZ Championship is on foxtel only.
