Postby Mr66 » Fri Mar 28, 2008 5:04 pm

Not too bad but I want to know why? :?
I didn't realise our jumper clashed with anyone else. :-k

I don't think they're calling it a clash jumper... the Tiser says its just an away strip.

I like, BTW. Something different.

I didn't know white was one of Sturt's colours, learn a new thing everyday.
I hate it, some of the heritage guernseys theyve worn which are predominately dark blue looked fantastic, why didn't they go for something similar to that.
Im not being critical because its Sturt, I was just as critical about North's atrocious effort and thought they too should have used some of their historical guernseys as a basis for something better.
Still, its got a Vee in it and that's always a good thing!
Crikey, first Norwood and West design new guernsey's like North's and now Sturt are stealing our Vee, everyone wants to be like North!

For those who haven't seen it there's a copy of it on doubleblue.org:

Speaking of alternate jumpers... saw the new Doggies one.

Not too much change, instead of blue at the top and all over the back, its white.

Design 2 is commonsense.
Design 1 is the Western Bulldogs alternative.

Sturt always had one of the better jumpers/jackets but they have spoilt it with the new style SFC logo , it looks too big nowhere near as good as the old one.
Don't care for the new away strip either the white looks crap.

I love the Dogs away guernsey much better than the wester bulldogs rip off at least it goes a small way to keeping our own identity. And apparently white is all the rage in sports uniforms these days.

I love the dogs one, very happy that is the one they chose. Apparently a 'new style' flashy one with a bulldog around half the front and one side was also considered but didn't make the shortlist (thank christ).

Sturt one looks pretty good to me, great to see a club with a lot of tradition experiment with designs.

Looks great IMO! I like to see some new strips getting used especially when they stick to traditional footy guernsey styling unlike some of the terrible netball-style strips that crop up in the AFL

White is a commonly used neutral colour used in away strips world wide we just aren't used to it in Aussie Rules

As to the "why", well why do we think ...... as a Sturt player on 5AA tonight said its another avenue to raise sponsorship $$$ and good luck to them I reckon
In between signatures .....
