No, and It'd be 40 something thousand at a Grand Final.

If you're talking minor round I think close to 20k went to a Norwood v Port Anzac Day game which the Legs won by about 20 goals.

Either way the answer is no.

That Port v Norwood game was huge. Great weather and massive crowd.

The other big crowd i can think of was the first game at Noarlunga. Over 10000 from memory.

Sturt and Norwood got 13000 or so to a night game at the parade a few years back, did they not? Was a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the first game played there and both teams wore replica guernseys.

Reckon they'd be happy with 5000 this time though.

Strewth, the top 25 crowds since 1991 and Norwood vs Port is on there 11 times!
Port is featured 22 times!
Norwood is on there 13 times!
The Eagles participated in the third largest crowd!
The Eagles are on there 5 times!
Sturt is only on there 3 times!
Glenelg is on there 4 times!
South is on there!
Centrals are on there 2 times.
North Adelaide and West Adelaide aren't on there at all!

More evident theri is that there are only 3 in that list since the turn of the century.

And the leading one from this decade is Sturt v Norwood, which takes us right back to where this thread started!

Perhaps SP meant could we knock South out of the "since 1991 25 largest crowds list"?

Edit: Very true Smac, there's been 8 years this century and 9 years the previous so that's pretty much an even split.
Then again, since Port joined the AFL, I think that'll subtract a few, especially seeing the obvious influence they have had on the crowds.

The evidence stacks up. Pre-Puffs the Magpies maintained their supporter base more than any other club.
Perhaps a better question is how the crowds have stacked up post Power?
