A good choice i reckon, always one of my favourites at the crows. May even bob up in the midfield for the panthers.

After watching South and West yesterday i still struggle to understand how he was delisted by the crows. He was a class above in the half he played. I don't think he had much to beat to become captain, taking nothing away from him. Also is Craig Parry the dumbest footballer going around? why in any trial would you hit a guy head high front on like he did in the game yesterday. If it was the AFL he would get 5 or 6 games so in the SANFL he will get 1 maybe 2.

No surprises here. He is the logical choice with plenty of AFL experience.

Nothing official on the club's website but I'll take your word for it. Definately no surprise. Is always a stand out when he puts on the South Adelaide jumper. Let's hope he can get his body right and play some good footy.
Any word on his deputies?

A good appointment by South. I expect him to have a ripper year and help Jack mould South into a more cohesive team than last year.
I still reckon he had another solid year of AFL in him...

watching the way he conducts himself, and the way the other south players look up to him he had to be the logical choice to captain the panthers.Against West on saturday,he was rested after half time and spent the rest of the game yelling instructions and urging the players on from the dug out.
With out doubt a fantastic leader and most likely a coach in the making!!

Which is why we went after him hard* but he looked us in the eye and said no thanks I owe South Adelaide and from our point of view his honesty and principles spoke volumes. No problems missing out on JAson under those circumstances.

I said that also when he was delisted from the crows in the delistings thread. Got laughed at, but i reckon he is a great chance, still fit and looks a cut above, not too many other blokes gonna steal votes from him at Souths.

Yeah it was mentioned somewhere, probably on tv News, that he looked a class above everyone in the trial game on the weekend. If he stays fit i think he'll certainly be one of the leading players in the comp this year.

I think his delisting was a fair admission by the Adelaide football Club that they do not reckon they are a realist chance of figuring in late September action, if they were a chance for the GF he would've been kept on given his quality.
window closed anyone???

I reckon they were very conscious of the need to be seen to be making a serious attempt at getting the average age of the list down. With untouchable McLeod, Goodwin and Edwards, they probably thought that Torney was the only real choice of the 30+ group to be delisted.
