Bayman,I have a feeling that South under Jack won't be able to stop many teams this season ! time will tell I suppose, but I have to agree , this week the Bays will have a better first up game than last season.

Will be a good test first up for the club. Hopefully a competitive game in front of a decent crowd.
I dont think we'll win a heap of games this year but it wouldnt surprise me if we got one first up

Having said that, it's been a few years since South started with a win I'd say.

Our best chance lies with the tribunal.
If Parry can do a houdini ,the same way Mouse did in the final minor round game of 2006 and get off some how ,we'll be in with a chance.

Bays for me, South quite unimpressive so far in the pre-season games and the bays should be starting with plenty of fire in the belly.

Norwood and Westies are going to be in for long years then if we can knock them off

South played extremely well against norwood in their trial match, not so good against port and got the job done against west. I think we will give a good account of ourselves on sunday.
The boys are going in hard and if we can use the ball with a bit more polish, look out Glenelg.
A first up win would be great for their confidence. Go SOUTH!!!!!!!

And in breaking news Ruory Kirkby's has been found guilty at teh tribunal but has been repremanded - so he is free to play.
Any news on Parry yet?

.....
That's a big out for the Panthers...Maybe a few showers around but Artic Park has got pretty good drainage IIRC,
so a little bit of water won't hurt...

Did he kick all the chairs over in the room when found guilty?
How many times has Parry been suspended now, he would be up there in the top 4 or 5 in the league, surely.

2 weeks? I wasn’t at the match but Warren Partland said there wasn’t much in it.

Good to see the tribunal is at least consistent after Trent Sporn got 2 games last year for being reported for head high contact in a trial game when all the incident amounted to was a Glenelg player slipping in the centre and falling into Sporn's legs. Now that was a joke given in the regular season (2007) most players only got one game for head high contact!
Sporn had never been reported in his entire career to that point but I'm not so sure about Parry's past which may have been a factor - cue someone who would know?

I was there - and I agree that he should have been reported but the fact the little westie player was not injured and got up straight away without any soccer histrionics - Parry should have just got a severe reprimand about picking on little blokes with their head over the ball.
Bet if Izzard got hurt bad Parry would have gotten off the charge - like always seems to happen.

Watched all the trials - so I must have been at a different ground - they were committed and impressive (except for the Port debacle) but they are only trials - can see though that depth will be a problem as the year progresses if there is a few injuries. The reserves skill level was pretty bad except for a handful of players in the backlines.
