Both teams have had a bit of an up and down pre season. That said, if the Dogs are firing on all cylinders, should win by 5 or 6 goals.
If not, should be a good contest and could go either way within a couple of goals.

Port have won all their trials to date (Bays & South) and even managed to win their 3 internals, i though at one stage the b side was going to beat the a side, seriously..........

I expect the dogs to win this easily. Add O'Sullivan back into the team he may have the same effect as Callinan's in his first game back. Remember people the Dogs only lost 2 games last year, how much have the other teams really caught up.

Port always seem to match up well with Centrals in the key positions, i think Centrals have a well oiled experienced mid-field whilst Port are blooding a few young guys, if they keep the focus of Clayton and bring these younger fellas into the game, i beleive they can win.....

Obviously there is a chance Port can win, the area i think Port will struggle is to kick enough goals. The Dogs defence is cleary the best and most experinced in the SANFL. Port struggled to kick enough goals last year against us and had argubly the best CHF in the league in LeCras playing, he is not there anymore and i don't think port have improved up forward. This is there major worry IMHO. Ports defence do have the ability to restrict Central but don't know how much damage they can do themselves.

Totally agree mate, i stated on another topic that Port's forward line is un structured and boring at best. Coree Achee played very well up forward in the trials but he leaves a huge hole down back. Hargraves has his usual 2-3 players on him at every contest so it baffles me where our smaller crumbers are when we move forward, lazy at times????

Achee= best full back in SANFL + one of the unluckiest players to finish his career with no AFL games al la (footballs version of Jamie Siddons)

Got me stuffed mate how he never played AFL, still only 27 i think?
Only ever seen him play 1 bad game i rekon, last yr against Sturt, Chambers kicked 10 or so on him, the mid0feild was to blame for that IMO.

From my point of view even when Schell was kicking goal after goal he always struggled to get a touch when Achee played on him. Always baffled me when i use to see Achee playing up forward, thought that was a sign of a major victory when they made that move.

Achee to the forward was the only move Ginever had, he went there to save a game, kicked his 2 or 3 but unfortunately the opposition counteracted with 6 or 7.

Miller is definatly the x factor and the one who worries me the most. One area Central may lack is a quick small defender and Miller has speed to burn and magic to match. In the first two trial games Farmer (sturt) and Jackky (eagles) murdered the Dogs. As good as players such as Cochrane and Switala are they do lack genuine pace these days. This maybe one avenue to goal Port might find sucessful. I think Danny Boyle may get first gig on Miller.
