i base that on the trials i have seen & i thought the eagles looked slightly slow & underdone when they played sturt & it is at prospect which will help rather than hinder north

Well everyone knows Bayman trial game form is not a good form to go by . But both teams played Centrals in the last two weeks one won one lost.
The Eagles have not won at Prospect for a while so the Eagles might be due.
Peddler retiring could cause the Eagles a few problems .
The newer looking Eagles forward line could cause North a few headaches. IMHO the Eagles might use a taller forward line Passador,Salter,Staples ,Groecke,Scharwze,Twomey will they all fit in ?Can the roosters handle so many talls.
Plus some smalls like Jacky, Biagi could cause some headaches.
Also some newer on ballers like Mackie and couch .

So me the Ealges just .

mickyj, i'm not going on the 'results' of trial games i'm going on what i've observed & to me wwt looked to be weeks behind sturt in preparation only 3 weeks ago & besides i don't want pr to set fire to my humble abode

ps, it is only my opinion & depending on the market i'll be backing north

Thats why I didn't attack you bayman ,i knew you were going by the odds. North's pace worry me .
But just think back the EAGLES didn't play a very good team against sturt .
Perhaps a $1.00 each way
Pace and size will determine this game .I'm not sure which clubs but IMHO this will be the tale of this game.

Remember when your thinking of what you've observed the strength of the sides that you've seen at the time. The Eagles have not fielded a side near full strength at all through the trials.

Recruits - Couch, Mackie and Biagi all fitting in well and all add something to our side. Geez our forward line looks like it's going to take some stopping - Salter, Twomey, Grocke, Passador, Schwarze add a crumber like Jacky into the mix and we have the potency around the contested mark and the crumbers as well. Our defence does worry me though with the retirement of Pedler doesn't help. If our midfielders are firing and we get first use of ball I think we can win because with enough chances we can definately kick a winning score. EAGLES just 1-2 goals. It would be nice to extract some revenge against those cocks they've been our nemesis of more recent times.

Yes EHL I am worried about the Eagles back line but we have Heir and Mackenzie to slot in there. The ex north player Mcentee improves with each game. The junior Broadbent played well in the backlines against Centrals.
Biagi resting in the forward lines showed he could kick goals.
Mackie could add some bite in the packs with toughness.

It will be an interesting game to see next week .

Not really, he made a call and went with it, even though Im a big critic of Jars he hasn't made too many wrong decisions when it comes to getting rid of players and after taking the emotion out of discussion of some of the player's he's shown the door he hasn't done too bad really.

Jars does have his favs though, if you're a fav of his you're laughing, if you're not it doesn't how much you put into the club you're still on the back foot.

I hope for your sake that this drought continues if they are all in the forward line at one time. If the ball hits the ground in wet weather with all of them up forward Jacky will be doing alot of work all by himself. There is no way you could all of them in the one side and playing up forward, that way to top heavy good luck though if thats your go.

Reckon this will be a great game of footy, both sides have a hell of alot to prove, didnt see the roosters game against Centrals but with alot of players missing it still wasnt a great performance, what worries me after attending training during the week is the upper body strength of alot of north players, where as they have the skills and pace alot to me still seem to small, hard to pick a winner in this one, both sides have forwards that on their day will kick a winning score, I just think at the minute a few of North's stars are a little underdone so the Eagles in a tight classic by 1 to 9 points in front of about 4500 fans if the weathers fine
