bayman I think you'll find that the wonderful 5aa only cover games when the likes of Tredders are playing   Maybe if we can all get our AFL listed guys to play they jump at the chance to broadcast .

Phil...hope you don't mind...I've copied your message onto the Legs forum...with source details of course.

JAS

i know jas i was just stirring a bit but when you hear day in & day out 'we're here for all your football needs' if they said afl football fair enough but when they give a 5 minute token gesture it annoys me especially when blokes like this have got their 'plum jobs' because of the sanfl in the first place, i know it is ratings & who pays the bills etc but it just annoys me, at least graham does go to glenelg games when he can & shows some support then

Great comment Bayman. They do the odd bigger Friday night game but thats it until finals. Then when they commentate in the finals they have got no idea of players names or anything. Simple solution - dont listen to them , listen to RPH or Life FM real supporters of SA footy.

oh i do listen to both rph & life (during finals i dial twist a bit) & would never listen to 891 or 5aa as they basically never do it, i agree about the 'bigger friday night games' but i'm not sure they did more than 2 last year (did we get the anzac game or the afl anzac game ?) & someone should tell them that a norwood v port game is NOT a bigger game anymore

I can't recall any game they did last year - maybe one at the most. I know it was a big surprise to me when they covered a Norwood/Eagles night match in 2006.

spelly, i said 2 thinking (from memory) that i think they did round 1 norwood v port with tredrea playing & the 2nd was if they did the anzac day game after that i'll put money on they didn't do anything else until the finals

I'm only going on what the Budget had for the broadcast of each match, but it only said that 5RPH did those matches.

Edit: That match 5AA covered was in 2005 (Rd 9)

Ahemm...Round 2 ABC TV Port v South???
Selfish I know but there's two much bigger games on that weekend with Glenelg v Eagles and Sturt v Centrals for TV coverage!
I don't remember South or Port playing finals last year!
I know this is a new and very exciting season...but give me a break!

It is wonderful that all our games have coverage.
It is appreciated for those Eagles fans who can't get to the games

BUT If you can attend please do make the effort to get to the grounds
That would go for all clubs - We need you at the games whenever you can attend
All clubs offer season and home match tickets
For Eagles fans our packages are great value with membership and 10 home games just $85, membership and season ticket just $120. Concession at half the price. (Significantly less than some others.)

That's all lovely CD and relevant, but from a Sponsors point of view, the ABC coverage is where it's at!
Membership is a fantastic and much needed part of our football clubs, but without sponsorship where would we be?
Like I said before my opinion on the ABC's choice for round 2 is purely selfish on my behalf...but still relevant! :ANAL:

Totally agree Rucciangelo, and our Sponsors on the telly for our first home game is good news and for those not able to be there.

And I also want to see a big crowd as that adds to coverage both radio and TV

I wouldn't get my hopes up... The 'romance' of Jack coaching against Port will be too much for most media outlets to pass up.

If you don't want the LifeFM coverage in Rd 2 I'll be more than happy for them to change to the West v Norwood game

Team and number of games with media coverage:

Sturt 4
South 4
Eagles 4
Port 4
North 3
Bays 3
Legs 2
Doggies 2
West 2
:? Poor Sturt

I wish you could get more of your supporters to the ground, it would make for a much better attmosphere, but unfortunatly a large number seem to fall into the "Eagles fans who can't get to the games " catagory, especially when the game is televised, or your up against the Cows.
