Clubs that like to share

Postby CUTTERMAN » Thu Feb 28, 2008 9:01 am

Listening to 5AA on wednesday they interviewed Craig Ebert (pretty sure it was Craig) and he mentioned that he played for West Adelaide before moving to North. I started thinking how some clubs seem to share alot of players and coaches between them, none more so than the exchanges between Port and West especially when you consider the Williams family, did John Cahill start at West also, I'm not sure but think I heard it once.
Sturt and Norwood have had a long history of sharing players and coaches Jack Oatey, Robert Oatey, Neil Craig to name some quick ones.
More recently Sturt and North seem to be continuing their sharing of players and coaches.
I think if you go back in history and find out who started where it's pretty interesting which clubs seem to continue to trade between each other over and over again.

Yep, Jack at South was what I'd been told.

Norwood and Sturt have shared plenty over the years, Winter, Barton, Bratten, Nunan, Robinson, Zubrinich, think there was a Wark or two, Im sure there's more.

Craig Ebert played at Port & West, but not North.
Cahill played junior footy at South before joining Ports.

Don't think WilloB will be shared* ... Can throw R Kelly in there also, and Pat Hall if we go back a bit.

A few of the younger generation Eberts played at North, but yeah i'm fairly certain Craig never played at the Roosters.

If Werner was at Norwood it would have only been juniors.

For Centrals, we seem to end up with a lot of former players at North and West.

In recent years, I can't recall too many coming from other SANFL clubs to play with us (Slattery being an exception last season), but in the past, I think we might have picked up a few players from Port (but do stand to be corrected).
