Crows home game on the Sat afternoon.
Good for Norwood as the crowd figure will now be much higher compared to the original timeslot. Not good for Norwood because they miss a televised game which already is rare due to the amount of Friday night games. Personally I prefer the new time.
I guess South wanted the ABC telecast?

What's with staring the anzac game so late? Why not keep it at 2:00pm?

It has to be said that I cannot understand why the SAFC would move their home game v Sturt from the Sunday back to the Saturday?

I certainly don't advocate pandering to the AFL but by moving the game to the Saturday afternoon, the game goes up against the Adelaide v Fremantle game at AAMI. This seems silly as a great majority of Crows supporters hail from the southern suburbs and most, if given the ultimatum, will choose the Crows over the Panthers.

From a SFC point of view it doesn't really matter as Blues fans travel well whenever and wherever they are fixtured, but there again a few will choose AAMI instead of Noarlunga, particularly if it's a nasty day weather wise....

I am sure Phil Herden wouldn't have been so hasty to change the fixture. Aren't South trying to build their supporter/membership base?

Confounded to say the least.

Somebody had to have a game on the Saturday to honour the agreement with the ABC televising rights, so South probably put their hand up to do it.

Does anyone know the actual clause in the broadcasting contract which excludes replaying a Friday Night match in the Saturday afternoon timeslot?

Presumably it is meant to be a "live" match...

Which would have excluded a special match like the SA vs WA match in 2006, I'm assuming.
