Found this interesting. I am aware that Centrals set out to mirror the Port way but I didn't realise how closely they applied that - compare these two club's core beliefs outlined below and see what you make of it.

Port Adelaide Magpies Football Club Creed

http://www.portmagpies.com.au/creed.php

“We the players and management of the PAMFC accept the heritage which players and administrators have passed down to us; in doing so we do not intend to rest in idleness but shall strive with all our power to further this club’s unrivalled achievements.

To do this we believe –

That there is great merit and noble achievement in winning a premiership
That to be successful each and every one of us must be active, aggressive and devoted to this cause;
We agree that success is well within our reach and have confidence that each member of both the team and management will suffer personal sacrifices for the common end.
Also, we know that, should after striving to our utmost, after giving our everything, (?) still not be successful our efforts will become a further part of this Club’s enviable tradition.
Finally, we concede there can be honour in defeat, but to each of us, honourable defeat of our club and Guernsey can only come after human endeavour on the playing field is completely exhausted.

Central District Football Club Ethos

http://www.cdfc.com.au/

The Central District Football Club, its Players, Management and Supporters pledge to accept the responsibility of ensuring that we strive with all our might to obtain our rightful place in Football History. Win or lose, our endeavours will forge a strong Club tradition, provided that an honest and unconditional effort on and off the playing field has been totally given. Club success is measured by Premierships. To accomplish this we must be pro-active and focused. We are confident that Players, Management and Supporters are prepared to suffer personal sacrifice to achieve this goal.

To become the best, you must learn from the best.

Centrals have certainly done that.
