Would be interesting to compare each Club's Numbers now as compared to January 2007.

This time last year the SFC had 250 Paid Financial Members. As quoted in this week's Courier, the Number currently stands at 1,061. Hope other Clubs have a similar result.

Go U Blues! :D

Well done Sturt very good number for this time of year.

Before the andBay agonWay word comes out, the difference surely must be that a lot of Sturt fans who havent missed a game for the last 50 years have paid up early this year.

????

I find it hard to believe that the quoted growth figure is correct.

Must be a different way of counting things, or what else has Sturt done differently this year to last year?

Where the renewal notices sent out at the same time? (or at all!)

I think you will find that at our family / presentation day we got alot of people signed up early for 2008 !!!

All the memberships were available on the day and if you didnt actually get it on the day you had all the info to take away with you.

I usually get mine in the preseason as thats what I have alwasy done but the early prompting got my money to them earlier.

the thing that is different rightly or wrongly is this time last year it was all doom & gloom while this year it is completely the opposite for them

Just checked the corresponding topics for the previous 2 years and this seems to be the first time that Sturt's membership figures aren't top secret. :?

Yep new to the site and stuffed it up. I would suggest these figures are to do with Sturts marketing . The members were sent a Newspaper type poster which was personalised and thanking the member for their previous year and encouraging them to sign a gain. A very clever initiative which has worked well.

Anyway now we know Sturts membership figures are greater than a West home match crowd !

Hey Wedgie!

I think the excellent pre-season numbers are due to the expertise of our appropriate admin.

Sam and Stuart are the guys who deserve full credit.

So you're saying Sturt's admin was incompetent prior to this year?

yes, what is your point ?

my statement says that last year at this time membership was low because everyone (me included) expected sturt to run 8th or 9th (gloom), while this year just about everyone expects sturt to be a competitive force (me included)

put it bluntly like ALL CLUBS are lot of supporters are FRONT RUNNERS, that includes glenelg as i can tell you i've seen faces in 2007 that i haven't seen for years & sturt would be the same as is the case with EVERY CLUB

Let's wait and see the final result SP before getting too carried away.
Besides, 250 for same time last year sounds suspiciously low, maybe they were just slow processing the forms!
Besides, I would expect Sturt to have one of the largest, if not the largest membership base.
All clubs are trying to make membersip value for money and not just for the old faithful. Look at what Col is doing at the Eagles, good stuff all round!!
