An extension of bayman's thread on teams most likely to go forwards or backwards - who are the top ten (playing) recruits for 2008 in the SANFL? (This means Andy Collins, Jack Cahill etc are excluded unless they plan to pull on the boots by about Round 15).

9) Byron Pickett (Port)
10) Stephen Bailey (West)
Anything can happen and apologies to(as it wouldn't surprise me if anything of these turned out to be great):
Cameron Faulkner (Central)
Earl Shaw (Central)
Luke Mccabe (Central)
Damien McCormack (Glenelg)
Rory O'Brien (North)
Stephen Doyle (Norwood)
Matt Davis (Norwood)

and in 2008? Better get a thread up and running on this one too mate. I was also thinking about a thread on who would win the Ken Farmer in 2008 - that will equally be of interest IMHO.

Too hard to predict, an injury to any one of the players listed during a trial game, or early in the season, and that players value in their first season is all but gone, too many variables/possibilities to predict.

and the SA bookie's wages indirectly!
Archard should be the recruit of the year, unlike the others he knows the comp backwards and has something to prove at a new club

Byron Pickett for Port Adelaide is the best recruit in the SANFL.
Port supporters have been screaming for some 'Port Adelaide' type players to brought into the side, and well, Choppy is by far one of the most 'Port Adelaide' type players going around.

Dash 61, give us a spell champ.
Do you really believe the West recruiting gurus have snapped up 5 of the top 9.

Interestingly, i don't think that there was too many clubs fighting over the signatures of the players that westies have signed. Quality over quantity is the best option. Have a look at Centrals, Eagles, North and Sturt they generally only recruit a few players but those that they get are generally quality.

Yes & one of the Coburg kids is suppose to be the quickest whoite footballer in australia, Collins has been watching the afl / vfl players and knows them back to front, in a glory season at Box Hill Bailey was the B&F and goes very well under collins
