Lets hope that in 2008 the last minor round - which is always subject to AFL finals programming and teams in those finals - will be a bit better managed this year by the SANFL clubs committing to their Sunday timeslots or at least, in the alternative, avoiding Adelaide based AFL club finals matches. The whole scenario was a debacle this year for the final round.

Clubs have a draft - so isn't too far away from being announced.

Lets hope this year, common sense is realised, and the previous seasons premiers are one of the 1st to complete their set of 3 byes.

Why?? It didnt affect this years premiers

The issue is the bye in the last round and how it can affect momentum. I reckon it should be rotated evenly between the 9 clubs. ie bye in the last round every 9 years.
Pretty sure Norwood had the round 23 bye in 2000 and 2006.

yeah Centrals have deffinatley had the round 23 bye a few times over the last few years, i think 02, 04 & 07, would just make sense that the previous years premiers are most likely to have the 1st week of finals off, so to give them a bye in round 23 is probably not the smartest move.

Hey Sammy
It probably doent matter to much when you have your byes as you have made the last 8 GFs anyway !!!

The AFL season starts a week earlier than usual in 2008 because of
another bye during the season, so will the SANFL start the same weekend?
