Ben Warren has signed with Langhorne Creek

Postby Ruck Legend » Wed Nov 07, 2007 8:24 am

Ben Warren has left South and signed with Langhorne Creek.

South apparantly even offered him more than money than he currently was on but Ben wanted to return home to Langhorne Creek.

Hasn't made a decision on where he will be playing yet. Hasn't yet completely Given South away but L.Creek will be the club if he Does. Wouldn't be on $600 a game there either if he does play back home.

Talking about not bad pocket money, who was the South player who picked up a cool $16,000 on the Melbourne Gallops Saturday?

Big loss to the SANFL IMHO, when Warren was playing good footy he was only behind Brant Chambers as far as the best full forward goes in the state IMHO.
His leading and goalshooting from acute angles at Noarlunga when it was blowing a gale always amazed me.
I know North fleetingly considered him but similar to Perrie we've got other positions that need filling more than key forwards.

What a waste of talent. State full forward in 2006 to country footy in 2008. Would have thought he'd have a bit more grit in him than that. Easy to chase the dollars in the country, but surely there'd be an element of pride at being in the best level in the state.

Ah well. Idealism crushed again :)

He always went missing against Zorzi from Norwood.

Vlatko would be up there if we had a midfield capable of kicking over a jar lid and even then he kicked sixty this year.

Geoff Warren.
Not sure if any SANFL. Believe he played in some flags up at the creek which JJ or Limb could elaborate on. Now is Team manager of Creeks A Grade.

FWIW and just IMHO but they need to spend more time chasing midfielders than forwards.
