Not just good for West Adelaide, but good for the SANFL. Already two quality home bred players have come back to the SANFL after their AFL careers have finished. Byron Pickett and Nathan Brown.

Byron Picket

Something that all SANFL clubs NEED.

Well done Port Magpies.

I only wished he took my invitation to play for the Dogs...

Great news for West Adelaide! Considering their new coach and the names that I have heard thrown around that could be playing at Westies next year, there is a very real chance that they are going to knock out one of the sides that finished in the five this year in this comming seasons finals!

Good to see him want to come back, not "wait for the draft" or go into coaching or drift away from footy. Esp to commit for three years.

That's what I was surprised about - the three years. Great for Westies and the SANFL. First Walsh and now Brown. Must be heartening for Westies supporters to know their home grown players want to come back and try and lift the club out of the bad patch they are having.

he was never gunna go into the draft as he retired from AFL. 3 years though... how old is he

Only thing that raised my eyebrows was three year deal. Lets hope his body holds up. I can remember his debut for westies.Pretty sure it was about rd 3 1997 vs Glenelg at the bay.

If these boys can do for their clubs what Benny did for ours in not even a full season, we have much to fear. Well done PAFC and WAFC.

Must admit I can't remember seeing the guy once which is weird considering he's played over 100 games in the AFL.
Not neccessary a bad thing as the players you don't notice are sometimes great value.
Here's his AFL stats:

His stats are terrific, over 20 disposals a game last year off a half-back flank, plus he's a playmaker and has pace.

I've always loved the way he plays.
