North's Matt Wright victim of vicious bashing!

Just saw a story on the C10 News where it has been reported Matt Wright was bashed with a bottle outside a party at Para Vista on the weekend.

He has a fractured skull, cut across his face and swelling to the brain and still in hospital. Jars was speaking about the incident and said that it may cost him being drafted this year and maybe long term.

Geez there are some gutless cowards out and about!!!

I hope he makes a speedy recovery and gets back to full health and there is no long term mental scars to go with it that ruin a potentially big football career either in the AFL or in the SANFL .

Thats is shocking news ... Regardless of who the lad is or what sport he plays, thats just terrible for both the kid, his family and friends.

Whatever happened to the good old days of belting each other a few times (no weapons) and then leaving a bloke once he went down?? Just can't believe some of the sheet that happens these days!!

I liked what I saw of this lad in 2007 and I thought he could be one of only a handful to be drafted this year. Very sad but im sure he will bounce back

I was a victim 18 months ago, completely random, late, inner city unprevoked.... hospital. Hope things go ok for Matt and that his career is in no way curtailed because of someone elses stupidity.

Matter is being investigated and they are following a line of enquiry so to speak, to our knowledge no person or persons have been charged in relation to the incident surround Matt at this time.
