Doug and Weed were in full flight up there talking to recruits, just see the 2 pics below as proof!
(And scroll even lower for the picture of Ashley Wedding, the guy I think Sheeba is really talking about)

Well we saw Doug Thomas and "The Weed" up there sniffing around but I think the boat has left this year re any quality players from the NT side. Doug even tried to coax Brett White to West with a slimy chat on the side after the game upstairs with a "I will pay you double what your on now" - I won't repeat what White told him to do.
And who was the spy? from another SANFL club (we assume) dressed in an old North polo shirt who jumped the fence prior to the game and walked down the tunnel. When stopped by a North player and asked who he was and what he wanted - he said, "I have arranged to speak to Luke Ivens". The North player now joined by the Team Manager said "What is it about", the spy said, "I will discuss that with Luke". The North player then said "That's a pity - because I am Luke Ivens"! What a dickhead!

I heard some allegations on the weekend about a signing for one club that has gambled his sign on away, and now wants out.

That's on another topic thread.

Now drebin, if a club offers a North player money, it's a "slimy chat on the side". If North offer Dean Howard money, it's proof of North's superior recruiting methods.
Secondly, I doubt if Doug Thomas would know who Brett White was.
Thirdly, the boat might not have left yet.

Looking at him in Darwin, I doubt if he'd know who his own players are!

I was standing 2 feet from both of them R&B and Brett told me what was said straight after the chat! I used the term "slimy" because he had the 'balls' to do it at a North after match function to a contracted player who happens to be our acting Captain. When we thought about who we might poach from West we couldn't think of any players (we already have Howard - who played very well I might add) that would warrant an approach!

I thought westies always travelled the miles to look for players.... I remember bumping into Rehny at the Wimmera League Grand Final in Horsham a couple of years back, looking at the talent.

ha ha, he actually scared the living daylights out of me! I asked him if it was ok if I had a photo taken with him, he looked angry and said "NO!".
Then when my bottom lip hit the ground and I pooped my pants he put his arm around me, with a big grin on his face saying he was kidding.
PS Agreed, MB is a top drop.
