The CDFC Juggernaut keeps rolling on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Postby Apachebulldog » Mon Oct 08, 2007 11:08 am

The Central District juggernaut, the powerhouse of the modern era, yesterday in front of 30,493 footy fans defeated a brave Rooster outfit and won their sixth Premiership.

After many years of taunts and jibes from some opposition footy fans re doggy fans socio economic status etc etc, you knuckleheads have finally been silenced.

Commiserations to Wedgie,Ian,Punk Rooster, Rooster Marty, Mrs Doggah and all the North posters on this fabulous footy site.

It was a fantastic effort by your lads to make the Grand Final and you all should really be proud of them.

I have known the pain of defeat i was there in 95,96,02 and 06, so heads up my friends ,all the signs are there for your club and hopefully next year you will achieve that special result.

Doggah and Apache last night, once again went through the yearly ritual of painting the infamous stobie pole.

However, this year Mrs Doggah was quite pleased that we decided to also paint the bottom of the pole in her favourite colors red and white.

Well done and a great effort by both teams.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF !!!!!!!!!
SANFL 2000 - 2011 Central District 12 consecutive Grand Final appearances and 9 Premierships.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFF.

Hit em hard let them get up and hit em again.

My records show that since 2000, the Doggies are 16-2 in finals and those 2 losses were the 2002 and 2006 GF's!

That's an amazing record

Simply awesome their overall record and the stability their club has. Can't see them dropping off for quite a while given their record of being able to replace their losses each year, which is what many people forget. They had 11 players (I think that's right?) this year who had not played in a winning GF and that says something in itself!

Clearly the modern powerhouse and a record that not even Port can match through their dominate decades!

Lairdy deserves a LOT of kudos here.
88 wins from 111 games coached, 10 wins from 11 finals.
An awesome record, more so considering how incredulously he gained the coaching job from Clarkson. No long-term contract, a year by year proposition. Has earned respect from everybody in and out of the club, and continued our club's respect from others.

Deserves hearty congratulations and the success he has worked so fruitfully for.

From memory when we last asked this question - about mid-season- Laird was slightly behind Clarkson on the win/loss ratio. These recent wins will probably see Roy at the head of the all-time win/loss table - with a GF in very year he has coached and 4 out of 5 wins! An incredible record.

Clarkson took us to 16-4 and 18-2 in minor rounds, and had a 3-1 finals record.
So he ended up with 1 premiership, two GFs and 34 wins from 40 regular season (37 from 44 overall). Percentage wise he's at 84, Laird's all-time at 79).
But who cares about a few percentage points... It's the trophy cabinet that speaks volumes...

Laird reminds me a bit of Alan Joyce at Hawthorn.
I wonder how he would go if he took on a struggling club?
ala: Oatey, Kerley, Fos etc.

Would be interesting to see if he does this sometime down the track.
He is obviously a great coach and knows the recipe for success.
Yeah, Naah,..... Bollocks!

Congratulations to CDFC on yet another premiership win. No doubting you are the team of the millenium so far. Fantastic record over the past 8 years especially in finalsWith ending in grand final appearances in all years and now 6 premierships in the trophy cupboard it's hard not to be in awe of this team.

No doubting? Are you sure about that?

It is perhaps a bit ironic that we have to thank our nemesis (Port Adelaide) for our success. Studying and then modelling ourselves on then changed the culture at Central.
Cheers

Yeah, agree with the sentiments on here. An unbelievable achievement and with or without the Gowans next year CDFC will, IMHO, still be the dominant team in the league.

Congratulations to CDFC, played a great season, put themselves in pole position for the finals and didn't let anything slip.
