1. What was your 1st SANFL Grand Final, how old were you & where did you sit/stand ?

Here's mine:

1. 1976 Sturt v Port, aged 5, Dad sat me over the fence on the outer wing.

2. 2006 Premiership, when Grocke goaled about the 10 min mark of 3rd Qtr, I KNEW it was ours.

3. 2004 thrashing by Centrals... I was soooooo hoping for Geelong to beat Port by 126 pts+

4. 1984 Port v Norwood & Evans v Balme in the goal square, right in front of us ( Torrens had won the Ressies & the action continued during the anthem !!!)

Here's mine:

1. 2000 Centrals vs Eagles, aged 34, Sat in 'our' traditional seats directly under the ABC cameras at the centre of the grandstand, top level...

2. 2000 GF, Dew Goal, almost the sealer, but the moment we smelled it for the FIRST TIME as a club...

3. 2002 at the hands of Sturt, just a train wreck... Our in form players won the reserves ominously by 100 over Port...

4. 2000 on the Podium, seeing Danny Hulm and Peter Jonas hold the trophy aloft, and hearing Danny's famous tragic last words to the faithful...

First Grand Final was in 1974. Sat on the eastern wing of Football Park.
Best witnessed moment involving a Grand Final, but not actually a Grand Final, would have to be in the 1995 Prelim Final when a Norwood player passed the ball in defence straight to a Central player near the square in our forward line, resulting in a goal. Jimmy Wynd (on crutches) gave a big salute and I knew we would finally be in a GF.
Best witnessed moment in a GF could have been Dewy's goals in the 2000 one.
Worst thing I have witnessed was Central players fighting each other during last year's GF.
Favourite moment will be 6:00pm this Sunday when we finally win a flag against someone who does not have 'West' in their name.
Favourite moment so far though would have to be the siren at the end of the 2000 GF.

Would have to agree with Snappy re Danny Hulm's emotional speech on reflection. Particularly in light of what happened soon after. God rest Danny!!

1985. I was 12 sitting on the outer wing, with my face painted Black & Gold, with my mum !
1886. The goal set up by Tony Symonds from the pocket.

1985. Remember after the game very well, the Glenelg players going berserk! Got home and the next door
neighnour had decorated the WHOLE house with Black & gold streamers...

1. What was your 1st SANFL Grand Final, how old were you & where did you sit/stand ? 1982 aged 10, Norwood v Glenelg ... Sat down the southern end but for the life of me can't remember where exactly

2. Your best witnessed Grand Final moment (TV does NOT count) ? Has to be the national anthem in 1984 (Balme v Evans), Keith Thomas mark on the members wing running with the flight of the ball or Rocky Roberts sealer in the same game.

3. The worst thing you witnessed in a Grand Final (again TV does NOT count)? Roger James passing to Lenny Pascoe instead of kicking for goal in the 99 GF.

4. All time favourite Grand Final moment Edit: Whoops, misread the question .. Probably John Wynne putting the Legs in front for the first time in the 78' Grand Final

First GF: 1976 aged 6, vaguely remember sitting on the members side.
Best GF moment: 2002 when Mattner goaled from 50 on the boundary in the 2nd quarter after running from half back. When he slotted that I thought we had a bit of a sniff then... it still gives me goosebumps!
Worst thing witnessed: The absolute mayhem that was the 91 GF
All time fave GF moment: Sticks and Seamus Maloney on the podium, and the scenes afterwards in the Shed, the atmosphere was unreal.

1. Saw a glenelg GF in the 80s. Can't remember what year but I would have been 7 or 8 at the time.
2. Chris Gowans taking a one hander against an eagles player in 2004, playing on and putting a left foot lace out pass to Daniel Schell. Brilliance. And when you see the replay you can see just how good it was.
3. 1996 when Brian Leys held the ball up to the dogs faithful on the outer wing when Port had us beat. At half time we thought we were the goods.
4. Final Siren of the 2000 GF.

1, 1973, SE Corner on the fence. 10 years old.
2, John Plummer's goal @ 29 minute mark of 4th 1/4. Mike Patto & Bench going off.
Me going off which led into...
3, Bay cheersquad members stealing and torching my Roosters beanie closely followed by that Cornes mark and goal. Dave Tiller decking a Bay trainer in '85 not to flash but the idiot deserved it after having hit Dave Robertson. (Still think more happened in 85 than 91 but that's just me)
4, Final Siren '71, '72, '87 and '91 can't split them hopefully we'll add '07 to the list this week.

1. What was your 1st SANFL Grand Final, how old were you & where did you sit/stand ?
1989. Unfortunately I was 12 and far too young to get absolutely plastered in attempt to erase it from my memory.
2. Your best witnessed Grand Final moment (TV does NOT count) ?
Tim Perkins running from one end to another to kick a goal after Tony Modra kicked it out on the full from 5 metres out in 91. Even though it was only the 2nd 1/4 I knew the game was ours.
3. The worst thing you witnessed in a Grand Final (again TV does NOT count)?
See number 1. The worst thing I didn't witness was our only goal from the game, it was raining so far I had a blanket or something over me and missed Burton kicking it.
4. All time favourite Grand Final moment
The whole day of 91.

1. 1985. Section X? Front Row. Immediately to the side of the bulk of the Bays cheer squad. I got to wield a flogger
(edit: I was 14)

2. Darren Mansell's first goal in 1992. There are moments from earlier grand finals that were better (notably Hall->Maynard->Symonds->GOAL in 1986) but my memory of the TV footage has supplanted my actual memory of the events.

3. Could say Sims v Simpson, but that would be too obvious... I'll say the clash of heads between Tregenza and the Norwood bloke in 1997.

4. Big Super holding the TS Hill Trophy aloft.

Scotty Hodges running down Spehr late in the 1994 Grand Final.

Neville Roberts kicking the sealer against Port, 1984.

Final siren, 1990.

1988 - I was 12. Sat behind the goals and barracked for Port because of what Scott Salisbury had done to Mark Prior the week before.

2. Your best witnessed Grand Final moment (TV does NOT count) ?

2000 - Seeing Centrals win their first Premiership.

3. The worst thing you witnessed in a Grand Final (again TV does NOT count)?

1996 - Free kick Scott Hodges in the goal square!

2004 - The whole game. Never seen such a completely dominated game of football by one team. (Although Geelong would have to come close this year)

Followed by the absolute smacking Sims recieved at the hands of dean schumman and the claret that flowed. Sims did it as the player could not see what was coming (MOST GUTLESS THING EVER SEEN), but schumman, smallest man on the ground took him apart and got 6 matches

We all know what sims is like, cheque out what people in the south east think about him.

1. First and only GF was 1992 - was out on the oval as a trainer with the Bays...

2. Nige's goal to put us two goals up 15 mins in the 1st qtr - could we fluke this I thought?

3. Anything after the 20 min mark of the 1st qtr...

4. Finally getting to watch Supe lift that cup in 85.....I had to wait until 7 years afet the event as in Darwin they cut away from teh telecast 10 mins into the final qtr to got to the Leyland Brothers show....
