Geez Luke Crane did alright against us, 8 votes in total v North!

I love how we flog Sturt by 46pts at Prospect yet Sturt get the 3 votes yet when we lose by 27pts at Unley we don't pick up even 1.

Or how in the two times we beat you, we shared the votes (3 Central players and 3 North players) yet when we lose to you, North players pick up all the votes. Margins were similar in all games.

Agreed although Rd 19 was a comprehensive win with North in front all day where in the 2 Central victories North were in front at half time.

There's odd stuff like that all over the place. The dogs only picked up all of the 3,2,1 about 6 times from an 18-2 season. That may show the even-ness of the side, the crap-ness of the umps or the dogs only ever did what was needed to win games instead of putting the fut on the throat of the opposition...

I know that it took some effort to produce this (and thanks for that effort) but I can't resist...

True, but I thought that umpires took more notice of last halves (or at least could remember them better). This was often a criticism of umpires doing the votes. Perhaps unjustified?

Btw, it would be unchartered territory for Central to be in front at halftime against North. Will Sunday see this happen? I would love to put money on North being in front at halftime and Central at the end.

I wonder if there was a fight in the crowd the day that the Eagles played Norwood and Bernie Vince played for Central? Perhaps he was named as a Central player so that KG could justify saying 'oh, the fights were definitely the fault of Central supporters'.

Similar to this one Ian ... Legs lead for majority of the game and only lost it in the last 10 minutes ... Not suggesting the votes aren't right, just goes to show how much influence 3 class acts can have compared to a larger spread of contributors.

If North got the extra goal due to the work of player(s) that had done nothing all day would the votes have been the same?

Also let me add that beating Sturt by 50pts on a wet day in Rd4 doesnt warrant all 3-2-1 votes. Thomson must have contributed to all of their 4.7

The umps don't just give the votes to the best player necessarially, its fairest AND most brilliant

I think that might explain some of the anomolies - I have no idea how the umps factor in the "fairest" part but I guess if you give lip all day and get 30 possession you end up with squat
