2007 Magarey Medal

Postby sturtpeter » Mon Sep 24, 2007 11:45 am

Should be a great Count with a few realistic chances of winning.

My top 3 from Sturt are:

Luke Crane
Brant Chambers
Jade Sheedy.

Go U Blues 8) 8)

Actually, in an SANFL first, I think the entire Sturt team will tie for the Medal.
This will be a great reward for a club entering a brand new renaisance.

Great season by Chambers, however like any medal for any league , the on-ballers usually stitch it up.

For chambers to win he would have needed another 50 goals.

Expect Chambers to get alot of 3rd bests, that just seems the way it is.

I reckon last year when Passa kicked 10 straight he only got 1 vote.

From the Eagles , Jarrad or Treeby ( again on- ballers) , where as i reckon Fiachi will win our club champion.
If at first you don't succeed , then destroy all evidence that you tried in the first place

I'd like to think so but not this year. Eagles players don't win medals like this because of the even spread of talent we have. I personally think that Treeby and Vince are our best hopes though.

Do not be surprised if Daniel Schell polls more votes than any other key-position player.

Luke was outstanding. I saw every one of Sturt's 20 Minor Round games.

I would have thought James Allen from North (having won Advertiser & Budget POTY awards) was in front for recruit of the year.

Callinan not too far behind.

Certainly has been very effective at Half Back.

I'd have thought so, too. Don't know for sure, though. I haven't seen all clubs' 20 minor round games

LOL. Crane's not even the second best recruit of the year! Allan and Callinan are both far ahead of him and both chacnes to win the MM this year. Heath Lawry and Keiran McGuiness would also be about the same level as Crane (plus perhaps some I've forgotten).
