Would have given the Eagles a chance if they were there I just can't see North getting close.

Dogs should win this; good form all year, good history against North, no injuries due to 2 weeks off and a pretty settled side. Might be off the boil a little with the break but you'd hope Roy had that looked after since he had months to prepare. North looked good in the second half today but surely can't afford to give up a lead like they have the last 2 weeks to a team like the dogs.

North are a huge chance. They certainly will not feel scoreboard pressure. I would think that they would now believe that they can always come back no matter how far down they are. Adelaide Oval Houdinis!!

I think the problem with that BDP is that unlike Sturt and WWT, Centrals have the ability to kill off a side and not let them back in.

If North are down by 30 points into the 3rd Quarter next week, I can't see them coming back against Centrals.

IMHO if North are going to win next week, they have to come out of the blocks firing. That last two wins over CD, North have lead from the front, not come from behind IIRC.

JTC, the problem is that Central may be a bit rusty in the first half next week (if they are going to be rusty at all, it is more likely to show early). Will we be able to establish sufficient a lead to put you away? I think not.
Btw, will be able to make it to the game next week (only the third time this year) so would love to catch up with supporters of both sides from here.
Cheers

Dogs are just simply a better team based on recent history. It's always harder to beat the best and harder to beat them when they're up and running. However, I do feel that letting any team get 5 goals ahead or make up a 5 goal break isn't a good sign. North will have been happy to get back into the last 2 games and win, but you just can't keep doing that. For mine, Sturt, North, Eagles and Glenelg have all shown weaknesses at a time of year you want to appear strong. Sturt have bitten the dust already, but if one of the rest wants to challenge the dogs they really have to expect to deliver 4 quarters of competitiveness.

Dogs will kick arse.
4 weeks ago most thought North would finish 5th (including me).
Anything from now's only a bonus.

Yeah unlike today next weeks game wont be close unless there is a miracle.

Mind u I would love Glenelg to beat the Eagles, but for the other game GO DOGGIES.

Well, North beat Centrals last time they played and even if the Doggies were rusty that day, we still did it and can take that confidence into the 2nd semi final.

The Eagles were in great form leading into today and we stitched them up

I reckon we are a huge chance!! Go Roosters.

North Adelaide 13.12-90 def.Central District 8.7-55...
Despite the bad record for the roosters against the dogs.. it is good to know we beat them the last time we played. come on jars lets get the week off

Yep... they will be 'cock-a-hoop' or should that be 'coop' ??

Danger game for Centrals but...

From a purely selfish point of view, I'd like to see the Dogs win because I think that is the Eagles best chance of winning the flag... & before you all start, this is why:

1. Centrals straight into the GF means they've only played 1 game in 4 weeks & that might tell on them if it's close @ 1/2 time or 3/4 time in the 'big one'

2. Based on what I saw last week (& don't get me wrong, North were pretty good particularly in the last 10 mins of the 3rd qtr & first 10 mins of the last), a lot of things went wrong with the Eagles & I don't believe they will give up a lead like that again v North.

The Dogs are STILL the team to beat but the other 3 sides ALL have +'ves to take from their last 5 or 6 weeks form. 8)

The Premiership race is wide open but certainly Centrals & North would have to be favourites @ this stage, I think.

Good one nugget.

Love your confidence but I reckon the dogs will make a statement on the weekend. It will sound something like "fugg off" to the rooster faithful.

Not picking a margin until I know the weather with more certainty but it won't be too close.

Good to see the Dogs fans are not overconfident and getting ahead of themselves

Not getting ahead of myself at all, wodney - we did finish on top clear by 5.5 games. And I am still allowed to tip my team to win I would have thought? Dogs have something to prove against your lot, I reckon they'll do it. :D

Given it was in response to a post by a North supporter predicting a smashing, I ain't the one ahead of myself.
