NORTH ADELAIDE’S MICHAEL WUNDKE WINS ROUND 23 COCA-COLA STAR SEARCH AWARD NOMINATION
Michael Wundke from the North Adelaide Football Club has been named the Round 23 Coca- Cola Star Search Award nominee.
Since making his debut in round 9, 19 year old Wundke has gone on to play 11 League matches for North Adelaide and kick 26 goals this season. Michael was the Roosters’ leading goal scorer on Friday night in their come-from-behind victory over fellow finals contender Sturt at Adelaide Oval. Michael kicked 4 goals 1 behind from his 7 disposals, which included 7 kicks and 7 marks, and was named in North Adelaide’s best.
Recruited from the Walkerville Football Club, Michael has progressed through North Adelaide’s underage and reserves teams since 2004. Michael was a member of the 2006 SANFL U18 Academy.
Wundke is North Adelaide’s third Coca-Cola Star Search Award nominee this season following Josh Cubillo in Round 4 and Matthew Wright in Round 18.

He can't be dropped after being our only real focul point and kicing 5 goals.
Someone like Perrie would have to start on the bench or in the ressies before Wundke is dropped.

He must play this week. He is an awesome player, great pair of hands and a straight kick. He always looks dangerous and will be crucial in the finals.

Does Wundke have the height and game to make it as a key forward in the AFL or more of a Scott Welsh or Rusling type?

He and Hart were superb in the second half Friday night! Great set of hands for a guy who looks to be around six foot tall. If he does get dropped, think I might mention to Rick to have a chat to him!

Taller than I thought. I'm sure the Budget had him listed at 183cm or 184cm. I'm sure of that as i kept referring to it thinking there's no way he's a six footer. Definite AFL draftee possibility.

191cm was from the North web site, I just checked the budget, it does have him as listed as 184cm, now I'm not sure which is right

He is definately 191 cm - The budget is nearly as bad as the Tiser for some of the player info they print at times.

Isn't that the responsibilities of the clubs to give the budget the right information? I know in my one brief year in charge at Glenelg fitness wise and my one year at Sturt doing teh rehab the team manager would hassle me at the start of teh year for anthropomtric data to forward to the budget.
If theres errors in the budget height and mass wise it is due to mis-information from the clubs.

Josh Cubillo, Matt Wright & Michael Wundke COCA-COLA STAR SEARCH AWARD nominees- let's hear the chorus of opposition supporters, saying we don't have a junior development program now...

I'm not sure anyone said you didn't have a junior development program punky.
Some did suggest that juniors could miss opportunities as a result of the recruitment done in the off-season. That seems to be proven wrong, quite emphatically.

Only joking Punky North have had a hand in his development but I think it is pertinanent to note that many organisations influence a kids development but arguably the two biggest factors are the kid himself and his parents. Thats where the bulk of the credit should go...

He will be dropped to make way for Perrie and Gill, and will get picked up as a rookie by the Crows next year.

IMHO, from the NAFC games I've seen live and on the box this season, Perrie doesn't deserve a game ahead of Wundke.
