We have made it a super record year before the buy 2008 and get rest of this year free are added to total.

Membership total before our special offer starts is 2134.
Thanks to all Eagles fans who have joined up - Another record year for the club!
Very much appreciated by all at Oval Ave.

FYI from the club website
EAGLES V GLENELG
This weekend's game will be played on Saturday 8 September, 2.15pm at Woodville Oval. This has been done to ensure that the players have the longest break possible leading into the finals after playing eight consecutive games.

With 5 days to go for the Woodville Heritage jumper auction on eBay prices range from $60 to $207.50 plus Blight's special still at $500.
Some bargains look likely.

Thanks to those who have added comments on the Adelaide Now website to complain about the sloppy reporting of last weeks game - appreciated.

CD, not that I care (refer to avatar) BUT are you guys showing the Crows game upstairs at all ?
I know a couple of Bays fans who can't decide between staying at home or going to Woodville and hoping to
catch some of the game on a TV somewhere...
The joy of being on the hill drinking beer cannot be understated

That would be good & about time CD

It has been one of my annoyances at the club set up. Given it is a members(& guest) area, should have it's own tv. Beats t smoke filled downstairs area. Since the pokies were moved the tv in the bistro area is okay but no view of the oval.

Surely the club can purchase a 50 inch plasma soon from David Brooks the good guys and whack it upstairs

Agree Eddie

Improvements to upstairs re technology in general is part of the development plan (lift etc) once that long term lease is signed between us and the council - and we are working very cooperatively with the council to achieve this - council is suppportive.
Linked to making upstairs a much better conference facility with up to date technology.
We do want to get it right with members' money for the long term.

Thus will be a temporary solution for this weekend.

It is a good viewing area to look from, big room, so something like that would enhance that room, certainly. Then you could get a live feed of the ABC's matches in there too, so you can watch the match and see the instant replay. ;)

Haha, true. :) Well, perhaps a small scoreboard on the other side of the oval may help, like what Unley has.

It would be in that spot so it is opposite and not too far away from the grandstands (Not that you couldn't figure that out anyway ;)). But having it in the south eastern corner woudn't make a difference, everyone could see it and the problems above would be solvered. :)

OH DEAR I think I've started something!!
But does make sense to have scoreboard in same position as is at richmond, glenelg, prospect and alberton given where our clubrooms sit.

Like the balcony idea too - hopefully we will achieve the long needed improvements to our facilities sooner rather than later.

Upstairs will be open to ALL Supporters on Saturday from 2pm after the home match lunch and 15 minutes before Eagles v Bays commences.

Big Screen Plasma TV will be available to watch Crows game.

Plenty of room & very comfortable - best of both worlds - get to Woodville on Saturday.

A higher membership figure than Norwood with about a third of the supporter base.

Proof, if any more was needed, that the Norwood board have lost the plot and simply DO NOT care about the people who attend their games.

We are a club in name only at the moment.

I appreciate your sentiment but though I would point out it works both ways, not only have Norwood not done as well as they should have but the Eagles through hard workers like Col have probably exceeded expectations.
Its great with people/clubs like Col and the Eagles raising the bar for other clubs to try and emulate.

Thank you for the kind words.

The Eagles made membership a priority as in 2001 we had 882 members.
By 2003 was up to 1543 by hard work getting members back to the club.

In 2004 when i was elected to the board we continued to make membership a priority and reduced prices as well as increasing the benefits.
In fact for basic membership next year in 2008 we will still $10 cheaper than the 2004 fee!

We continue to look at different ways to keep members signed up and passionate about their club.

2001: 882 members - 2007: 2134 and growing
Thanks to all Eagles fans who have joined for being a member is true commitment to the club and is appreciated.

Wedgie does that mean i owe you a donut and not Phil for the plan to open upstairs to all with the big screen TV?

Agreed. CD's obvious efforts to make the supporters at the Eagles feel part of things down there are refelcted in the fantastic membership figures.

Norwood, on the other hand, have only recently stopped treating their supporters as red and blue ATMs and have a relationship with their fans that makes North's look good. Actually the word relationship is ill advised, the Norwood Football Club has NO bond whatsoever with its supporters at the moment.
