SOUTH ADELAIDE’S SAM ELLIOTT WINS ROUND 22 COCA-COLA STAR SEARCH AWARD NOMINATION
Sam Elliott from the South Adelaide Football Club has been named the Round 22 Coca-Cola Star Search Award nominee.
Playing his fifth League match, 20 year old Elliott battled hard all day for South Adelaide who were defeated by The Eagles at Woodville Oval on Saturday. Named in the Panthers’ best, Sam collected 23 possessions, including 17 kicks, 6 handballs, 11 marks and laid 5 tackles, whilst playing on the wing.
Recruited from Strathalbyn Football Club, Elliott progressed through the Panthers’ Under 17’s, Under 19’s and Reserves before making his League debut in round 10 this year.
Rookie-listed by the Adelaide Football Club in 2006, Elliott is South Adelaide’s second Coca-Cola Star Search Award nominee this season following Bradley Hunter in Round 10.

I grabbed two Budgets at random (honest) first was Rd 7 South Vs Bays at Arctic Park. 5 players 20 or younger - Bays 6.
Next was Rd11 South Vs Doggies at Arctic Pk. 5 players 20 or younger Centrals 4.

I met young Sam last year when he was a Crow rookie and did seem a tad overwhelmed by it all, good to seem him getting a league game....well done

I give you the big tip spiritof64, i reckon i know a lot more about football than you care to dream of. I represented that guersney for a number of years. look i was no champion far from it, but i saw what recruits did to that club. The young kids love wearing that the big S.A. i dont give a s#it whether there was 5 in this game 6 in that game. Play the blokes that want to play i dont care whether there 16. Mate we bleed for the same colours. Maybe your name signifies something, where is that spirit?

If Petrenko has another game this week like he did last week, he'll get it, no question.
It's fair that Elliott got it anyway, for a new player, it shows more for a player who had that game in a side which lost by 103 than a side that won by 103.
