Good win but North has to go on with this type of football for the next 4 games and secure the double chance first and then see what happens. As Jars said tonight expect the Dogs to lift the bar and the intensity even further where it counts and where they are expert at - the finals. At least we fought this one out and withstood Centrals finally at home!

We also today saw the two best recruits this year in the league by a long shot- Allan and Callinan. Both have a touch of real class about them. Imagine having those two in tandem!

Got to say the umpiring both ways today was a disgrace. Also the goal umpires - seriously they make some blunders - 2 today stood out at the Southern end.

1. Alleways mark in the 1st qr behind the line that got us a goal was a bad mistake but from the same goal ump in the second

2. Schell's goal that missed by two feet - the goal umpire never bothered to move it was a lazy shocker.

Howards report was laughable - it would never have got to a contest if the di*khead umpire had payed a free to Matt Wright just before for hanging on!

The solo highlight of the day was Alleways grab in the first. As good as a "speckie" you would wish to see.

Great win North, you made look Centrals look very ordinary.

The Callinan vs Allan duel was great to watch, a neutral would have enjoyed it more. They are both superb players and really stood up in a pressure game.

Alleway's mark was unreal. I was with a few other lads at the club after the game and we asked him to describe it and he didn't think it was anything special.. but he did say that he didn't think he would get near it which is what the North supporters thought too. Great game of footy though.

Agreed mate, was very annoyed the way they kept the Dogs in the game in first half and then evened up in the 2nd half when the game was over.

smac wrote: For the faithful in the grandstands though, it wasn't the grand final. Just in case you were confused (it certainly appeared that way!).

Poor fella, confused when supporters actually barrack during a minor round game as opposed to some supporters that just make noise (or rock up) when the game is over in a Grand Final, sounds like you'd be more at home at Crows game, FFS, now Ive heard it all, even our "corporates" get paid out for making noise.

Seriously, I'd really like to take this issue further, you have a problem with supporters making noise?

Thank Christ you weren't standing out with the real supporters because we made a heap of noise from the opening bounce, but hey, that's probably way uncool?

Dude are you for real?

Honestly mate, if you cant handle people supporting or making noise I think the SANFL is the wrong comp for you, soccer would be the go mate. :?

Not at all mate. Just amused at an over reaction to a minor round victory.

Fair enough mate, I'll tell everyone to be a bit quieter next game so you don't get so upset, or even better, just go to a Crows game.

FFS, are you for real?
A Dogs fan getting upset from too much supporting and cheering? :?

I just asked Mrs Smac, she can confirm I am real. Hope that helps you sleep tonight.

I never complained about the noise, or anything else. My opinion on anything does not need to conform to yours either.

Nah, its alright mate, Ive already sent an email out to all North supporters to tell them to be a bit more AFL like and be quieter next time we play the Dogs so you don't get upset.

Let me know if you had any other issues today at Prospect mate, so far we've gathered that the old people that sit in the grandstand were a little too animated and loud for you, I don't know what they were thinking making noise at an SANFL game. Was the beer too cold and the BBQ too hot also?

FFS Dude. :?

FFS yourself. You are merely demonstrating the same ability to over react.

Still haven't complained about noise either, would love you to point out where I did that?

Actually made a few comments to my old man today that the noise coming out of the stands was awesome. But you twist things however you like and I'll go to bed with a good handle on the english language.

That amount of noise is not unusual from the stands at Prospect.
I would have thought of all opposition supporters, Centrals would have simillar passion & enthusiasim from it's members/supporters, maybe I have over estimated the passion of Centrals supporters.

Fair enough, from your own writings it was "awesome" and you were "confused".
I can only assume that some sort of hidden compliment. :?

Didn't comment on passion either, so your comment is confusing, Ian.

Yes, it was a compliment, glad you worked that part out at least.

lol@smac, calling people "confused" isn't a compliment, calling them passionate is.

You could always turn that into a positive for your club if Central and North meet again this year i.e. that was like a final to North, then Central will take advantage of any possible complacency the next time.

I dunno, I'm trying to make light of things!

You blokes are relentless. Have taken the conversation to places it never needed to go.

Well done on the win, sorry about the blow to the head you must have received at some point.

P.S. Wedgie, the he/she comment is childish in the extreme, I would have expected better but it is an obvious sign of your self belief that you drop to that level.

G'night.

P.P.S. Spelly, no dramas - in fact I will need to read this in the morning to remember it. Still drinking my winnings from the Eagles win today.

Same thing happened last year, I even mentioned it before the game yesterday or the day before, today's win means nothing but if we'd lost we were gone for 2007.

Main thing taken out of the day is that our old supporters in the grand stand cheer too loudly!

Great win by an undermanned reserves today for the 5th side to beat the 4th side, we're still in the running for a threepeat! :D

Seriously mate, I don't know why you'd take offence at that, I thought I'd play it safe as I honestly don't know if you're a he or a she, I don't think I've ever met you, I thought that was the safe option instead of guessing incorrectly. I don't know how it is childish to play safe instead of making an incorrect guess, if you were Dogger or Apache who caught up with me today I would have known what sex you were. You're really clutching at straws now.

Back on to the game, my main disappointment today was I rocked up thinking the Schell v Alleway battle would be worth the price of admittance alone but it never happened with Schell playing up forward. :(

In smac's defence, his memory might not be so short lived, unless he had attended a nuetral game, they would have to go back 10 years for the North crowd to have as much to cheer about as we did today V Centrals  probably wouldn't remember an atmosphere at Prospect like that, we're just used to hearing it more often than not.

Yeah, fair enough, I have a much more balanced view than most going to watch a lot of games when my team isn't playing.
Perhaps if we'd started a few fights, had been completely quiet like a Crows game or turned over a few cars he/she'd be happier with the atmosphere?

First - great effort by North today. Throroughly deserved the win.

By far Centrals worst performance for the year - 2.7 kicked in three quarters is not good enough. Callihan still played a great game, which was one of few positives to come out of today for Centrals.

Interesting for Centrals, it's two losses have been at Prospect and Unley - where they hadn't previously lost for 10 and 22 years respectively.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10
