robranisgod wrote:I heard from a normally reliable Surt source that Sturt's financial woes have been solved with a donation of $1 million from a former player who is worth $150 million. He named the former player but I had never heard of him. The only proviso regarding the donation was that Matt Benson had to go.

Anyone else know anything of this?

No this is not true.

So, she's on the board that appointed her to the position.

I know Ron is coaching there, perhaps he gave her the idea?

Sounds like a good appointment with her business background. The article makes the distinction between the business and football departments which I think would mirror most clubs.

She's supposedly been quite a mover and shaker down at the club... breaking some of the old boys club moulds, pointing out failures, making people responsible for their efforts, helping those not towing the line to go elsewhere (hint hint)...

If that's the case, then all power to her... maybe a woman in there, with no "done deals" with old football mates, can help bring in some people who are about running a successful business and not about waving their "I'm on board" membership card around to their mates.

I can't get the link to open. It's not Karen Brady is it?

No, its Sue Dewing.

I'd be interested in knowing where she sat on the reserves issue.
