So who is heading over for the game (or lives in Perth and is going anyway)?

I'll be there but on the oval during the game. Got an email from the WAFTA secretary on Thurs saying I've been selected for the "visitors" training staff. Cant wait! I guess it's too expensive for travelling teams to send a full support staff with them. Even AFL squads use WAFL club staff when in town for this reason.

Guess the celebratory piss up will wait until after the game :)
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Barto it is great experiance. I carried the Drinks for the WA boys when they last played here in SA and got a WAFL t-shirt. I had a fantastic time. Yeah i know a couple of Westies Trainers has helped Essendon and Hawthorn over the years

Shame we're running out of Sturt blokes with the injuries though. I think I'll be the only SA trainer out there actually barracking for the team!

Has a captain been named?

Not as yet I think Barto...

Would say it will come from one of Jade Sheedy, Paul Thomas, Damon White or maybe the Gowans twins could be co-captains !! ;)

Well Jade Sheedy was of course skipper against the Vics last year with Thommo as his vice and they both played well and did a great job...

I think Thommo is probably deserving of the opportunity to lead the side, perhaps reverse the roles from last time. Damon White would be an interesting choice as he is of course a Western Australian native. Not sure if that would have happened before.

The Gowans mention, whilst would be nice, was purely tounge in cheek, of course !!!
