Well, I'd enjoy it more if our skill level allowed it to produce the results it should, instead of us turning it over to produce an embarrassing goal at the other end. This is what makes it look so bad, but the mistake is to draw that conclusion from our first trial game against an in-form and up and running experienced opponent.

I'm sure you realised that West ran with 21 players and Norwood opted to use 25 or 26. I'm also sure that, although Norwood had some good players out, West will change at least half that side by Round 1. Out will go the 'bottom' 8 or 9, in will come the following:

On-ball: Birss, Caruso, Hartlett, Schmidt, Davenport, Rowe and Piasente (Hassan soon after).

There are others to return, such as Martin and Webb for height, but I think you'd agree that on-ball division might make a bit of difference to our skill level and ability.

Not me. Rubbishing the crap Collins is making them play though? Guilty.

Can you tell me you actually enjoy the style of football West are playing at the moment?

As a West supporter I tend to agree, but as a die hard supporter I will give them a few more weeks to see what the plan is

Just remember, in all our SAFooty polls last year Norwoods were heavilly favoured for the spoon, they proved everyone wrong and West still may have a bit up there sleaves, well i bloody hope so or its SPOON NOS 5 coming up

Lets not forget Norwood are second favourites for the flag, so far they are delivering on the massive expectation at the Parade

Norwood Look The Goods (Dutchy they deserve to be the 2nd favourite)

The word is that we will hear in the next 14 Days some news on how to recruit the perfect side, this rumour is getting stronger and the news is about to break.

Mind you that was how to do it in 2008, cant wait to read the book on how to recruit in 2009 this time next year.

Incorrect.

Collins had them playing exactly the same way last year.

And the side that played last night was pretty much last year's side.

Substitute the skills of those players I listed and perhaps you'll see something different.

You could be forgiven for thinking so ... Scrappy game, as you'd expect this time of year, was good to get a look at a few individuals I hadn't seen yet, and catch up with a few mates over an ale - Pretty much what trial football is all about.

Westies made a few mistakes which perhaps helped Norwood dominate on the scoreboard, but I thought the young Bloods showed a good level of committment ... Obviously they are a work in progress but I think they'll have a fair load of improvement in them.

I know when you've been in the wilderness for a while it's easy to get excited, but you can't prove anything til there's premiership points on the line ... Looking forward to the season proper.

No March premiers at the Parade that trophy case is on Brighton Road.
The only ones getting carried away right now are the opposition supporters.
Norwood have a good side on paper and great depth, the attitude looks good, we look super fit, the game plan is improved and the expectation is for a good season.
There are quite a few other sides that will be thinking the same thing especially one on the Northern horizon.

I'm sure I heard him saying.... "Norwood For Premiers".... as I walked past 'his memorial' last Friday night. ;)

I said that Norwood had good players out. The question at issue was about West's chances.

It is amazing reading Glenelg and Sturt supporters writing about Norwood supporters thinking we have the premiership in the bag. Any Norwood supporter who thinks that is an idiot. I am fairly confident we will finish top 3 with the side we have. People are not talking about how well we played but how poor West were and their gameplan. It is nice to watch your team improve even if it is pre season. After beating last years losing grandfinalist by 9 goals i was happy with what i sore but was not as happy with last night that is why us Norwood supporter don't want to be cocky and don't think most of are.

Who cares if the Norwood supporters are getting a little excited, thats what our great game is about, supporting the team through thick and thin, enjoying the ups and the downs.

Its a sad day when people get critisied for enjoying a team's victory even if it is only a trial game.

Frustrating time of year. Every year the same discussion about which team is missing the most players and which club supporters cheered too loudly for a trial game. Most teams this weekend seemed to have 10 or so first choice players out. Even looking at the teams you can't take much out of it as some players only play a half or have also played in the reserves.

Can't wait for the real games to start.
