I'm the same, the key word in my post was "if". ;)

I always rated Westbrook highly as a player and was sad to see him go. Would be a huge bonus if he was to head back to Oval Ave but I'll await official confirmation before getting too excited.

I also heard of a player from Sturt that maybe heading to Oval Ave as well. Unconfirmed at this stage though. If we were to get him the Eagles are going places in 2009.

Would there be enough room in the Eagles forward line for Brant Chambers along side Passador and Grocke though ;)

Surely it wouldn't be a big name player, would have to be a fringe player ??? Any names you care to share ???

The main issue is the eagles use the whole salary cap up in 09 & give Fuller a fair crack at a flag ! That is looking at this early stage to be the case ............ & the Sturt player is a midfielder Ive heard !

If all the above is true would be nice to have a midfield again ;)

Big name player not Brant Chambers. I would prefer not to name until it happens (if it happens)

Mmm, so you are now saying a "big name" player from Sturt whereas others have hinted at fringe Double Blues players. Others mentioned a midfielder as well so if you are to categorise a "star Sturt midfielder" you would have to say it would be out of Sheedy, Crane, Cubillo, McGlone or maybe Tristian Gum ???

My guess would be either Cubillo or Gum ???

Don't show your hand any further 'cause it would be disappointing if this player doesn't come to the Eagles. ;)

Point taken Spelly. If it comes off though I would be a very happy man.

Does this rumour have more credibility than the one linking J Clayton to WWT a few years ago?

I remember rumours 2 or 3 years ago about Clayton and WWT. I'm not being critical, i think it would be good for WWT to pick up some quality players, but i'm a bit skeptical that any quality players from Sturt would be defecting over to WWT. I guess we'll find out in due course.

Yep, i'm talking this year, i'm just saying i personally would be surprised if anyone like Sheedy, McGlone etc left Sturt to go to WWT.

I would be surprised if players like them would go anywhere. I don't want ehl to name the player, but he must be talking about a player who you would rank about 10-20 in a squad.

GWW - I know as a fact that J Clayton was contracted to play for the Eagles if he came to SA. The year he was supposed to come he was rookie listed by NM for one year then upgraded the next then delisted.
In the mean time Eagles contracted Toia for two years when he became available we were unable to fit him in the salary cap, so he went to port mags. So it had GREAT credibility.
